How come I can't find Easter basket grass anymore? You know, the shreaded plastic stuff. I tried looking a few years ago and couldn't find any, and I just tried looking the other day and still can find it. I wound up buying shreded green paper from the gift wrap department to use instead

Do they not make it any more?

They do here - WalMart is covered up with the stuff. In every pastel shade you can imagine. It's only 25 cents a bag. I got each of my girls their favorite color :)

If I thought it would arrive in time, I'd offer to mail you some...I have yellow, pink, and some green left from last yeat that I didn't remember saving - I just found it when I got out the Easter decorations (yeah, I'm late getting them up). In fact, if I mailed it today, it just might make it. If you're interested PM me your address :)

try looking around my house...i swear, used it one year, and i'm picking it up for MONTHS!

but to answer you question...I saw it at Target for .29 cents

I looked at Target, I looked at the Jewel (grocery store) and at Walgreens, I don't see it anywhere! That's why I thought that maybe they didn't make it anymore!

I didn't try Walmart, I hate that place! Maybe next year...

Oh well. I've already bought the shreaded paper, and it will look quite nice, really.

I'm sure the paper will look nice ::yes::

and stinkerbelle is right - it gets EVERYWHERE!! I don't remember that from my childhood -maybe because I wasn't the one cleaning it up. :rolleyes1

DH coudn't believe I bought MORE of the stuff this year :teeth:

Laurie :)

I can't stand that plastic stuff! I've been buying the colored shredded paper for a few years now.

I saw it had Target, but didn't get any b/c my dh would kill me. Not literally, of course. He absolutely hates the stuff b/c it ends up everywhere.

Walmart had it EVERYWHERE!! But, if you need some now, I'm sure I can get you enough for SEVERAL baskets out of my carpet!!!! That stuff is worse than Christmas tree needles!!!

Funny you should ask. I just bought a bag of it in CVS today. They had tons of it.

yeah, this stuff cleans up so much easier!

and, not to get off topic...but we always have an artificial Christmas tree. We took it down the week after christmas. I vaccum my house EVERY week.

still picking up friggin' needles! hehehe

I hate the plastic grass, too. Green tissue paper sheets here, nothing shredded DH would have a heart attack.

OK, this was a freak occurrence, but I thought I'd mention it---
one year after Easter I put the grass, in the baskets, down in the basement storage area. A couple of months later our sump pump quits. You guessed it, Easter grass had made its way into the sump area and had gummed it all up. We just put the gifts right into the basket now without the grass.

our cat loves to chew on the plastic easter grass so it is shredded paper for us.

I haven't seen the plastic stuff, but I haven't been looking... I HATE that stuff. I swear, it's made by the Devil himself (that and tinsel) How come you can find it for MONTHS after you KNOW you've vacuumed thoroughly??

We use the paper stuff here.

DH doesn't gripe about much, but this is a biggie with him so I used green tissue paper this year too.

Easter grass is EVIL. EVIL I say. It has been banned from my house. I did try the paper kind one year and it was a little bit better, but I was still finding it months later. It's pernicious stuff.
