Easter Basket Done

For DD's basket, I have a chocolate bunny, some smaller wrapped chocolates, jelly beans, color by number books and a spring dress because she needs some spring clothes that fit. I also want to get her a larger set of crayons. For me and DH, we each have a small chocolate mold that the easter bunny will mark for us in the basket :goodvibes

DD21 Walmart gift card ( groceries for college)

DS17 m&m's, peanut butter cups, Hersheys kisses, jellybeans, chocolate bunny ??? (not finished yet)

DD14 m&m's, peanut butter cups, Hersheys kisses, jellybeans, chocolate bunny, Amazon kindle gift card

DS3 m&m's, peanut butter cups, Hersheys kisses, jellybeans, chocolate bunny, Toy Story action figures, and bubbles.

I'm going easy on baskets this year, not that we go big any year:laughing:

Small baseball mit (so she can play with dad and brothers, $5.99 at Aldi)
Reeses Pieces carrot

Gum

DSS 11
Reeses Pieces carrot
Chocolate bunny (fisherman themed because he likes to fish)
Gum

DSS 16
Reeses Pieces carrot
Gum

I still need to get:
DSS 16 a chocolate bunny
$10 gift cards for the boys (probably to McDonalds or Subway)
Jelly Beans to sprinkle in baskets
Some type of small chocolate eggs (maybe Butterfinger?) to sprinkle in baskets
Lip gloss for my DD because she said she hoped the Easter Bunny would bring her some

Gonna hit Target on my lunch on Thursday to see what I can find to finish the baskets.

This year is a little tough for me because my college age daughter is far from home doing the Disney College Program....I sent her an "Easter Box" that she just received that contained lots of Lara Bars, Packages of Nuts, Beef Jerky, lots of candy, a Disney coloring book and markers (yes, I know....:rotfl:) some hair barrettes and a restaurant gift card. She said she got the call to pick up the package when she was on the way to the bus to go to work, so she picked it up and emptied everything into her backpack and took it to work with her. This is the first time she will be away from home for a major holiday and I sure am going to miss her!

The big present though is we are revealing the disney surprise!! I am so excited I cant stand it lol. I work 12 hr shifts on the weekends so we are doing easter stuff on friday. We are going to have an easter egg hunt/scavenger hunt with clues for DS to figure out that we are going to disney. Will get it all on video. Not going to tell him an exact date just going to say "this summer". Then we will surprise him again right before we go and tell him its for his birthday (in June). I was originally going to surprise him the night before we left but I decided I want to have some time to get his input on stuff he wants to do while we are there, plus I just cant hold it in any longer :rotfl: I already told DD but as she is 2, she doesnt really get it I dont think.

Hello neighbor! When my girls were younger, now 16 and 13, they loved the EASTER EGG HUNTS in the snow! We live about 1/2 hour south of Ithaca! ;)

Kudos to you Mom!!! DS18 about died when I put some in his stuff for his dorm, but I too am a realist.

DS18 is getting wiper blades for his car, a new pink polo, snacks for his dorm, an egg with some cash and a chocolate bunny.

DD14 is getting jewelery and a chocolate bunny and....I better get busy on hers! She is so hard to buy for!

I wish I had thought of all of the ideas you guys have when they were younger. No way I could buy her a swim suit now!

I am definitely saving these ideas for when I am a grandmother, hopefully in another 10 years or so! :rolleyes1

We are probably being a bit lame but I have gradually picked up BAB cards when we went over the year and got the 1/2 off deal. I have saved 160 we have 4 littles and they will each get 40 in gift cards to spend at BAB. They each have a bucket and I will pick up a chocolate bunny. So less than 30 each which I was stoked about. We are going to take them to BAB that day and let them spend their dollars. I had wanted to pick up some more stuffies to be stuffed to put them in it but they never did the b1g1 animal sale again. All four littles are getting that.
DS is 16 and wanted to go to a Rangers game on Monday. Honestly I probably would have taken him anyway but we are both ok with calling it Easter and being done ;)
DD 18 is in the medical part of Navy boot camp. I sent her hunger games last week and hid some pretzel m&ms in the bottom of the box lol. We shall see if she actually gets either. It is always hit or miss with her RDCs.

Thanks for the thread OP, I totally don't feel like I've gone round the bend for my kids baskets anymore. :rotfl:

You guys are fun!

Armor-All wipes Combo Pack for his car
Little "adult" gift for us
Silly straws
Burt's Bees Chapstick 4 pack (dude goes through this like mad)

He isn't expecting anything so this will be fun!

I know its coming up quick and I haven't bought a thing for my 12 year old daughters basket yet- I will get her the typical chocolate bunny etc- she still has last years so that will go in the trash before this years comes LOL- she eats candy but little bits at a time and we end up throwing away last years halloween candy this year etc... Guess she will get barnes and noble gift card since she is always buying books, itunes gift card, a couple things for our Disney trip this year...don't know what else, she doesn't really ask for anything other than books and even those she just buys herself most of the time now that she is older and has her own money.

I ended up getting my daughter itunes gift card, barnes and noble gift card, nail polish, mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, chocolate, lots of reeses peanut butter things, some bath fizzy things, toothpaste, lots of gum, salon effects nail polish strips and special effects red hair dye. I hid eggs and put hershey kisses and dollars in them and a 5.00 bill in one. She was very happy.

I like the OP have always gone WAY overboard at Easter & this year decided to scale down a TON--both boys still loved their baskets :) In a bit we will be going to lunch with our family & then off to do our annual Easter egg hunt where the kids have the chance to rake in some $$$$ :)

Have a GREAT day :)
