She has some minor mobility issues and no sense of direction whatsoever. I need a safe way to get her from Disney World to what will probably be the Jet Blue drop off. She is leaving a day earlier than the rest of us and flying to Boston. I am terrified that she is going to fall or get lost so I literally need to hand her to a driver and have them shove her in the airport door.

Economical is good but first and foremost is her making her flight safely. I would love for a car to pick her up at a park or DtD so she doesn't have to miss out on anything. Any suggestions?

A car service can pick her up just about anywhere. I recommend either Tiffany Towncar or FL Tours (a board sponsor). They will pick your mom up wherever you ask, and drop her at the terminal for her flight home. Just explain to them what you need.

You mention minor mobility issues. Airports involve a lot of walking. Call the airline and request a wheelchair. Then ask the town car company to have the drive very walk her to the counter. The will have a sky cap wheel her through the airport and when we went with my daughter in an airport wheelchair, they expedited us through security. They will bring her right to the gate. You can also request a wheelchair for the arrival airport and she will receive the same treatment there.

I had this same issue in 2004. We were staying at Swan, my 78 yr old mom departed a few days before us. I rented a car at Dolphin for the day, it was about the same as a Tiffany or taxi ride, my SIL came with, I walked mom to the counter, got a pass because of her mobility issues to take her all the way to the gate while SIL sat in the drop area in the car, then we returned. Also, we dropped my son and GF at Universal and made a food stop so it really paid off.

I doubt the driver will be able to walk her to the counter. You aren't allowed to leave a vehicle unattended in the drop off area.

JetBlue also offers a Meet 'n' Assist. They were very helpful for my grandparents this past Sept. when they were flying from Logan to Fort Myers. They are both ambulatory, but get confused easily.

From the JetBlue site:
"Meet and Assist"
This service is offered to escort our customers to the gate and from the gate upon arrival when a wheelchair is not needed. The customer is mobile and able to walk but needs additional assistance. Please speak with one of our reservation crewmembers at 1-800-JETBLUE and they will be happy to add this service to your reservation for you.

Disney has always been terrific about resolving things......if one of you would escort her, maybe hey will give you the extra ME round trip.

Everyone be some much happier to know she returns safely to he airport and it really is no extra cost as ME is running anyway.
They offer ME to get people to stay more time onsite, it really would bebpnefit them to acommadate so Mom is safe, and your peace of mind. It really is worth the phone call to ask.
