Allears.net is reporting an earthquake from the Gulf of Mexico being felt in Orlando...Has anyone heard anymore on this??

Hope all is OK with everyone in that area

We felt it, our whole building shook, it was so weird. I thought I was going crazy for about an hour until I saw on the weather channel that there was actually an earthquake. :rotfl:

That would be funny if you were on the Earthquake ride when it happened. :) (Earthquake is at Universal, for those who are wondering wth I'm babbling about.)

Our whole house shook...we live about 5 miles from the Gulf. At first we thought it was a sinkhole, LOL.

My DH said the same thing. :rotfl:

Felt it VERY much in Davenport!

I felt it and didn't realize what it was. I was sitting at my desk and felt a slight tremor. I thought it was a large truck going by. We have a lot of construction in our area. Than, I realized it was Sunday and the construction folks aren't working. I turned on the television and heard it was an earthquake.

I called my DD who is in Tallahassee at the college. She was lying on her bed in the dorm and she said her bed shook and smacked against the wall.

Wow! I felt my car sort of rocking this morning here in Jacksonville while I was stopped at a light, but the roads were empty (I looked for a big truck). My car was rocking/bouncing like it would if you were stopped on a bridge (concrete or grate), just ever so slightly.

I just got off the USGS website, and effects were felt as far north as Atlanta.

Oh my I have never heard of anything like this happeneing here before. I am glad there doesnt seem to be any major problems

Did they give it a number yet? Like 4.5 on the Richter(sp?) scale?

We felt a minor tremor here (Panama City is in the Panhandle area of Florida). Great, one more reason for the insurance companies to raise our rates! :sad2:

Man! I didn't feel a thing! I'm bummed I missed it.

(We used to live in Los Angeles. :) )

LOL I thought I was imagining things. The bed shook a bit and my DH wasn't even in it! He came and asked if I felt anything strange.
It was 250 miles off the shore of Ft. Myers Beach in the gulf. Luckily, they are saying it's too small for a Tsunami, but they are keeping an eye out.

This is too weird.

DS10 walked out of his room this morning and said "what was that, my whole room just shook and moved." I laughed and said it's probably an earthquake jokingly.

It was right at the time they say the earthquake was.

I never thought it was actually an earthquake. He didn't believe me at first when I told him it was on CNN.

DH felt it on his bike ride, too. He said the tires felt real weird like they were slipping out from under him.

I talked to some people who work at the earthquake ride today and asked if they felt the earthquake and they said "No" and laughed. I didn't feel it either but several people did feel it at Universal Studios.

Is there a fault line there? That's so weird!
