Earth tremor in the UK

Well, the earth didn't move for me, that's all I'm saying... ;)

I slept through it.

I sleep through most things like when an ambulance came to take my Mum to the hospital.

One of my neighbours had a house fire a few years ago. The fire brigade arrived, sirens blaring and lights blazing, put out the fire and then set up huge fans outside the doors to blow the smoke out.

I slept through everything until they turned the fans on!

I think it was the shaking that woke me last night rather than the noise. I'm not used to the earth moving when I'm in bed! :goodvibes

Here in Norfolk I was still awake and felt the whole thing. It woke everyone in the house. The best way to describe it was as if the house was moving along the street.

My son (who was also awake) thought it was great !!

I live in Kent and i didnt feel or hear a thing, first i knew was a text from my friend, i text her back and said dont talk such nonsense lmao

We definitely felt it here. Just sat bolt upright in bed, thinking "What the hell is going on?" Felt and sounded like a high speed train had just gone through the back garden. All the ornaments etc in the bedroom were shaking, and DS came rushing into our bedroom.

I think I felt more frightened as DH works night shift and was not at home at the time. :scared1:

A chimney pot came down in the village, but luckily no one was hurt round here.

Well, I slept right through it but my mum said that it reached here. She was sitting by her display cabinet and the glass was shaking, which only usually happens when a heavy loading train is travelling past (I'm not far from the railway line) and there was definetely no train going past!

I was half aslep when it happened last night i felt the bed shake and thought that my ds had jumped into bed without me knowing and had fell out but he was not there so i just went back to sleep an had forgot all about it till i turned on GMTV this morning.

Woke me up, jumped out of bed waking up DH who wondered what the heck was up with me and he caught the last couple of seconds. Made our wardrobe rattle! Thought one of the kids had fell downstairs as our bathroom is downstairs, looked in on them and they were both sound asleep. We have family in Newark on Trent so hope they are OK.

Didn't feel a thing here, but I was fast asleep and there's no waking me :rotfl:

me and DH shot up out of bead. DH thought it was out littlle 'um thundering towards our bedroom. Met eldest DD on the landing who thought it was her tummy rumbling - now that's what I call hunger pangs. :lmao:

bit scared tho' and took awhile for everyone to go back to bed. Glad no one was seriously hurt.

next one due in 30 years!

Well I thought my DH had lost the plot this morning when he told me that the whole house was shaking at 1am this morning!!, Yeah right was my immediate reaction "are you sure you weren't dreaming". I couldn't believe it when I heard the news :rolleyes1 , anyway my DD's and I slept really well :lmao:

We both woke up and felt it in Northampton. I'm not a big fan of the dark and we were also watching Most Haunted before going to bed so I was rather scared:scared1:
Was so relieved when people at work mentioned it :p
