We have earth hour every night after 9:00 --- everything goes off and most gets unplugged.. even now, nothing is on... luckly my laptop has aLONG battery so I can stay on dis boards all night if I like and just plug back in in the morning. nothing comes back on until morning.
I love love the convenience of lights, warm running water ect, however, I think it's important that we show our children that these are conveniences, not neccessaties and that you appreciate conveniences. not to mention if enough people do this, it does make an impact to the earth.
Its kind of nice to sit with a window open, listening to the night sounds, with a candle flickering beside me while reading on the DIS. It's a great way to relax!
