We promised my daughter that she can get her ears pierced for her 9th B-day. which will occur while we are at Disney.....do you know if Disney does this?

I can't think of a place, but perhaps buy a pair of Mickey Ears earrings to give her while you're there, and get them pierced when you get back. I've seen some cute three stone diamond (and cubic zirconia) Mickey Ears, at Kohls, actually.

We just our DD's ear pierced( not at Disney not sure if they do this or not). She will be 9 in November. We are planning to get a pair for her on our November trip :yay:

i'm inclined to agree. the question's been asked quite a few times before and i'm pretty sure the answer is it does not happen on property.

No tattoos, no piercings.

I'm such a dork that I actually called and asked once.

Disney does not do ear piercing.. but you could find a mall in the Orlando area and get her ears pierced there then head over to Disney and buy her a nice pair of Mickey Head earrings! :goodvibes

I'm unaware of any Disney location that does it, but I believe that there are a few surrounding Wal-Mart Super Centers. A lady I used to work with had just moved from Orlando, and I believe she said that they had 4? Not sure which one would be closest. At any rate, we pierce ears at Wal-Mart. Maybe not the Disney magical moment you were looking for, but if she wants it done ON her birthday, it may be an option.

I'd be hesitant to do it while I was down there, though. It will depend on how sensitive her ears are (i.e. whether or not they will get infected easily), and that's really hard to guage. My concern would be keeping them clean. Make sure you clean them immediately after getting out of the water if you go swimming. It may be easier to get germs and such on her ears being outside and at a theme park (sweating or just touching her ears without thinking about it). I know it may sound a bit paranoid, but I've seen some girls with some pretty infected ears, and it's no fun for anyone. Just make sure you clean them really well, which true enough, you'd be doing anyway.

I would suggest purchasing earrings for her birthday while down there, but actually get them pierced couple of weeks ahead of time so you know how her ears will react (in addtion to letting them heal a bit), or wait till you get back home.

I know that you didn't ask for a novel, but I've been piercing ears for close to a decade. I can't help it when I see ear piercing threads. :rotfl:

I agree with YodaGirl.

I had my ears pierced at 4 (at the doctor's office), then a second hole in one ear at 15 with my mom's blessing (hey, she did hers at 15 at a party with a needle and ice, so she really coudln't tell me NOT to do it, LOL, so she took me to a piercing place), and a third hole in the same ear at 21.

And each time, you have to leave the "starter" earring in until it's healed, no changing earrings, no putting other earrings in. So if you have hers done while there, she MIGHT be dealing with pain, she MIGHT be dealing with a red and swollen ear, and her sleep will probably be effected if she's a side sleeper. That would seriously put a damper on things!

I would get hers done well before her b'day, so they have a chance to be all healed up by the time of the trip. Then you can find some cute and safe earrings for her to wear, and she can have cute, non-red, ears to show off in pictures. :)

Agree with others...don't do this on vacation. Especially if you're thinking of doing water parks/pools and such. Depending on sensitivity, you could be spending a lot of time doing treatments on "ouchy" ears, and being in & out of heavily chlorinated water won't help, either. You sure don't want to be dealing with infected ears on vacation, either (infected ears are very common after piercing. They will heal, but you do have to get treatment & deal with that several times a day.)

And you absolutely cannot take out the starter earrings for a minimum of 2 weeks (some places will tell you 4-6 weeks), so getting "mickey" earrings down there would just be symbolic...she couldn't actually wear them unless you get ears done way in advance.

I agree with waiting. Last piercing I got I was told not to go swimming for a while after. So I'd wait and just buy earrings for her to wear after the piercing heal. Or I'd do it way in advance and let her switch the earrings at WDW.

Thanks soo much for all the good advice. As we are going next week, my wife and I just decided to wait till we get back to pierce her ears, but will buy earings for her at WDW.

Thanks again for all the great advice....man, I love these boards!!!!
