I don't think I've seen this posted, but I'm sure it has. I have a Chase Freedom card and can earn "extra" points for linking through their website to other websites for purchases.

We've had some fairly substantial purchases from HomeDepot and Lowes lately and have done this with in-store pick-up. Today we purchased 40 bags of mulch on-line (20-me;20-DH) to pick up in store. Along with their awesome sale and the "10pts/dollar" that's an extra 10% off!

Last month this worked successfully with all new exterior doors, low voltage lighting and all new exterior light fixtures. (We shopped around for what we wanted; went home read reviews; then purchased through the link through the credit card; picked them up 20 minutes later [except for the doors]!)

In the last 6 months, we've earned nearly $1,000.00. Certainly the rewards won't be this much typically, but just 1 simple extra step has saved us this much. I was really surprised.

The drawback: sometimes the wait to pick up the items is a PIA. I guess it was worth it though.

I always check ebates to see how they compare to the extra CC rewards, so I can make sure I am getting the most $$$ back!

This is what I do as well. Ebates will often beat the cashback bonus from Discover and Chase. I check them all before buying anything. Also Quickrewards sometimes has good %'s as well.

I never thought about doing that with store pick up at Lowes.

Thanks for the tip!

I try to check out ev'rewards.com before I shop online. It list the various options for additional bonuses. -- Suzanne
