Earmuffs in June? Update 7/5 Trip Report Link!

We are doing Pirate League too. Abby has an Elizabeth Swann costume (the gold dress her dad buys her in the first movie). I ordered it off Ebay years ago.

Here she is wearing it like two Halloweens ago all pinned up because it was too big. Now she can wear it and it fits. BUT it will be so hot and it doesn't really match the makeovers. I think we will bring it to the hotel but skip bringing it to MK. We have a 9 am apt. for the makeover so she would have to wear the costume all day. Not sure what to do.
I like the choices you have above. We have one of the boy costumes but Brady is still potty training and the costume we have is one piece that he would have to slide all the way off to the floor. Again we may bring it to the hotel but skip the parks or decide day of. I am renting a stroller and not really sure how much storage we will have.
I went to a Halloween store the day after Halloween and all of the boy costumes were gone and the girl ones were so slutty. It was gross. They looked like something a 20 year old would wear to a pirate frat party. Not cool. I love the one you have a pic of. I am debating getting/making a pillowcase dress with pirate girl fabric. We'll see.

LOVE The Pirate costumes, especially the modest cut for Sophie...some of the girls outfits make you go :scared1: They are going to be ADORABLE!!! (Should I say, Very MANLY for the boys, ??) I can't wait to see photos after they are all made up. :lovestruc

Thank you! I can't wait to get them!

I'm totally loving all of your purchases! The pirate costumes you got are great :thumbsup2

Thanks!:thumbsup2

The pirate costumes are great. This just confirms to me that we have to make time for our son to go to Pirate's League. He would love the costume you bought Finn. They are all great by the way. You sure no how to find great stuff!

Thanks! I love eBay! Sometimes you can find GREAT deals! You just have to be patient.

Very cute pirate costumes! Congrats on the great deal on Sophie's!

Thanks! I was excited!

She is SO CUTE!!! I love the elizabeth swan dress!!! I agree with the heat factor. I'm definitely bringing a change of clothes for the kids. The costumes for girls are RIDICULOUS. I couldn't believe the skin shown on most of them. I like the Disney version they sell at the park, but it is long sleeved and $50. Not going to happen!

Yes, I think it is probably a good thing that design your own vinylmations can't be traded. :lmao: It would be kind of interesting to see what people do with them, though.

Love the pirate costumes! They're all going to look great! It's pretty impressive to have all your Halloween costume shopping done in March, even if it is for Pirates' League first. I can never make up my mind what the boys should be until the last minute.

It is a nice feeling, actually! Scott is trying to convince me to get a pirate costume. :rotfl: not sure what is up with that! :lmao:

I HAVE AN INTERVIEW!!! EEK! :scared1: It is THIS Thursday at 4:30 pm! Can you all send some extra prayers/good thoughts my way? I am super nervous. My portfolio is looking good. I just need some color ink to print some updates. I got a new outfit last night AND some grown up jewelry! Tonight and tomorrow I am going to google interview questions and brush up on my "buzz words." I hope I get this job!

I really hope your interview went well!! Sending pixie dust. A little extra magic will help.:wizard:

Haven't been over here in a while...thought I had better catch up!

I LOVE the pirate costumes and I agree with the fact that modest pirate costumes for girls are hard to come by!

Hope the interview went well!

Thank you so much! I will post about the interview in my next post.

They are super hard to come by! Apparently women pirates used to be risque? :confused3:lmao:

Firstly LESS THAN 3 MONTHS!!! HOORAY!!! :dance3:

Secondly...the interview. It wasn't awful, it just wasn't great. I left feeling very bummed and cried all night. I really flubbed a quesiton about grading and stammered for what seemed like eternity. I wrote my thank you letter today and clarified, so hopefully that will help. All is not lost, but I just don't have the GREAT feeling I hoped I would have had. Time will tell. And hopefully God will open another door if this falls through.

Thirdly, the pirate stuff all came. And I'm DISAPPOINTED! Costumes are always hit or miss.

Sophie's: It will be perfect for the park. Light, airy, and cute. But REALLY short. Sophie is a tall size 7/8. I got her a 10. It was mid thigh. She can't wear it without something underneath. So I will be looking for some cute black capris leggings.

Griffin: Remember how I got him two on accident? Well, good thing I did! First, Ethan threw a FIT because his hadn't come. He INSISTED that Finn's were his because "THEY ARE TOO BIG FOR FIIIINNNNNN!" So he decided to wear Finn's. And they fit! This forced Finn to put on a pirate shirt we had in the dress up bin. It looked SO CUTE! I just need pants for it. Anyway, the 2nd outfit looks pretty big.

Ethan: Ethan is a 5/6. I got him a 7 thinking that I could fold over the pants. Ummmmm...turns out it was a 7X! Way huge. Put it on the shelf in our closet for about THREE YEARS!

So in all:
a.) need to get shorts/capris for Sophie
b.) Finn can wear the dress up shirt, but need to come up with bottoms
c.) Ethan can wear Finn's 2nd outfit.

The first outfit (the one Ethan was wearing) is a scratchy material and I think it would be really hot at the park. It did fit Ethan, but I don't think it would be comfortable to wear all day (it was a size 2-4!). It was a bit snug in the crotch.

Silver lining? The costumes were in good shape so I can probably resell next year!

YEA for less than three months and possibly reselling the costumes. :cheer2::dance3::cheer2:

HUGS for the less than exciting interview. You never know, you might have done MUCH better than you think and the Thank you note is ALWAYS a great touch! Praying for God to lead you to that job I know He has for you! :flower3:

Sorry the costumes were disappointing, I know what you mean about them being hit or miss.

Praying your weekend is MUCH better than the past few days for you!!!:hug:

Thank you so much. You said just the right thing. We have our kids' school's silent auction this weekend. We just finished set up. It's going to be a busy, but fun time! I will keep my mind off of things, for sure!

Sorry to hear that you don't think the interview went that well. The one interview I thought I did the worst in, was the job I have now... so you never know. ;)

I know how disappointing it is when you have such high expectations for things you order. I am sure the costumes will look great on the kids no matter what! We decided to bring two Cinderella costumes for our little one just in case, she throws a tantrum about one of them. I am not into meltdowns at Disney so hopefully one of them will work out the night we eat dinner with Cinderella. If not, she wears nothing...(won't that be a sight! :rotfl:) We are off to the circus today. Just a day trip to give the kids some fun.

Sorry to hear the interview could have gone better. Maybe it wasn't really that bad. Generally speaking, when I interview for a job and don't get it, the time comes when I look back and thank God I didn't get it, because it wouldn't have been nearly as good as what I ended up with. I hope the job still works out for you, but if it doesn't, there's probably something better coming along.

That's the trouble with ordering costumes, you never know exactly how it's going to turn out. I guess it's kind of fun to have more Disney-related stuff to shop for.

Hi, I have not been posting but trying to catch up on ppls trip report.
Your daughter is adorable. Off to catch up and enjoy in others excitement:cloud9:
I love your BBB past trip pics. SO cool, we also went in '09.
Looks like you have some awesome planning done and ready for action!

I am a little jealous of the BBB(not that I want a girl I am in love with my boys) only because its so darn cute and special! Next trip we can do Pirates league but yds wontbe 3 yet and that is their age limit. I wondered about Boy costumes in parks since I see al the girls in dresses but all of the biys costumes are long sleeved and too hot.
Thanks for sharing your ptr

The only good thing about being two weeks behind is you get the whole story at once:lmao:

Sorry your interview didn't turn out so well - but its so true that the Lord works in mysterious ways. Consider it good practice for the real thing, right?;)

Sounds like the costume were a mixed bag. 2 out of 3, right?

My DD is also a very tall 7 year old - I end up buying her a 12 most of the time now. I had been looking for fairy costume, and the tween stuff that will fit her is a little to flirty for her age. The pirate costume will be so cute -- I've seen some great black leggings at the the Children's Place, and they sell capris this time of year too. They are great for underneath dresses of questionable length!

I love all your shopping finds. the flip flops are so cute and we are BIG Phineas and Ferb fans here so LOVED the Deuf doll! I have a feeling DH will want that one! :rotfl2:

Soooo I've been MIA, between our trip, my TR, Grad school and work i haven't had time to catch up. So I'm trying to get up to date now....

sorry about your interview... hopefully they understand:goodvibes

your plans sound great so far, and I love the disney store stuff. It's great when you find good deals!

Hi! I just found this report and noticed yuo will be in the world about the same time we are. I am subscribing and will go back and read to catch up.
