to try to get to earlier so you can have more time at Disney? We got up early. There was a delay in accident and we won’t get on the bus to leave. is this normal?

If this is a Disney bus, the bus may wait to leave until it is full. I have not heard of busses waiting to leave due to traffic, but if the accident blocks access to the highway, that could happen.

I thought all the DCL port-to-resort buses were scheduled to depart from the port at 9 am, so there was no particular advantage to doing express walk-off if you were using that transportation to one of the resorts. When we have done this, we were directed to the bus going to our resort. We had main dining and ate breakfast in the MDR, so we were onboard the bus by 8:20 am.

If you’re taking Disney transfers to the resorts, when you actually leave the ship won’t matter. The resort buses leave at 9 AM. If you want to get to the resort earlier, then you should book private transportation.

We used away we go for a past trip from Port Canaveral back to CBR we were back at the resort close to 10am after departed closing to 8 off the Fantasy. The day of the week was a Thursday

thanks everyone for the feedback. I didn’t know the buses going back to the resorts didn’t go out until after 9 AM. I’ll definitely not count on that as an early exit in the future.

Back around 2012 we lefts the ship around 7:30 and were boarded on to a van which meant we arrived at our Disney hotel around 9a. Haven't had that happen since before the pandemic.

The cruise to Disney resort busses all leave at 9 am, so getting off super early doesn't help you. The airport busses leave as they fill up.
Yeah, I really wish we'd known this before we got up so early for nothing. We'll do it differently next time for sure!
