Early vs Late December Atmosphere

Are the crowds dead in early December or will it be fairly busy? I don't want it to be extremely crowded but I do enjoy the feel of a relatively busy theme park for the atmosphere.

If I have no restrictions on when I can travel to Disney World, which month would be most preferable based on these conditions? I chose December for the Christmas theming but would love to hear others opinions!

My experience during December: Still crowded but manageable.

Caveat: Party Days in MK are I would say average to below average crowds (still has significant wait times on popular rides) before the party. Non-party days are very heavy crowds. One evening I went back on a non-party day. They had to open both the Tony's bypass & backstage area because Main Street was absolutely full for fireworks. And even the bypass was insanely crowded with people arriving for fireworks/EMH and other people trying to leavr

It's WDW. There's no such thing as dead crowds. Ever. The holidays are busy, but early Dec isn't as bad as late. As for when to go, that depends on what you want. Start with the weather and go from there.

How's the weather in December? Will it still be "warm" or will it be freezing that I'll need a jacket throughout the day? Does it tend to rain a lot that's a big no for us!

I was only there once in early December. I am from NJ so I am used to some hot and some cold, but not extremes. It was 70s and 80s when we went during the day and dropped to the 60s. Except one day in Epcot.it was about 82...then this cold cold wind started to blow, and it rained, hard. The temp dropped to the 60s it seemed like, in about 45 minutes. I was wearing shorts and went from comfy to COLD for me in shorts. One night were in universal and the temp dropped into the high 50s.

at home I would not find 50s or 60s cold..but there it was like a frozen winter hit. Lol. I’d bring long pants, shorts and a sweatshirt....and a jacket and jeans and... lol just bring your closet.

It can go either way. It doesn't usually rain as much in December as it does in the summer.

It rained almost every day between 16 and 27 December 2019. Not cold most days but long periods of persistent rain. We wore light rain coats. However, on 24 December the shop on Main Street was being ransacked for sweatshirts, jumpers and leggings because it was particularly chilly.

It was very crowded near Christmas (of course), but it was less than last year. The few days before and after New Year's were very, very crowded though.

This is super misleading. Early December is NIGHT and DAY less crowded than then last two weeks of the year.

We have gone several times in early Dec and were very lucky with good weather and manageable crowds.
