Early ticket pick-up/MB/FP+

We arrive August 17th on a RO PIN discount reservation at AOA (2 suites) for three days, then a bounceback FD package starting on the 20th. We plan to pick up our package tickets early. That means we should be able to pick up the tickets on the 17th correct? And use them that day, correct? Will they be attached to our MB then or is it some kind of special ticket? We go to guest services to do the early pick-up correct? What about FP+? If we aren't going to have tickets until the 20th technically, until we do the early pick-up, then we can only schedule FP+ ahead of time for the 20th-25th that our tickets (8 day hoppers) are on the package reservation for correct? On the 17th when we arrive and pick up the tickets will we then be able to make FP+ reservations for the 17th, 18th and 19th?

I bought an AP in January when I was at WDW so I plan to not use my 8 day hopper from the package. Anything different because I have the AP?

Thanks for any help! :goodvibes

I am in exactly the same boat. My trip begins March 1st. Like you, I hope to pick up my tix 3 days early. I also think your assessment of FP+ is correct. I'll report back with our experience.

We did this in November with our magic bands but we were only picking up a day earlier. We had no problem with early ticket pickup. I went to the guest relations in epcot and the line was much shorter than mk. We had six day parkhoppers then added an extra day at the end. We were not able to do fp+ before our pkg started but we only needed to get into mk the night before to do the dessert party, not to ride anything.

Have a great trip!

I agree. I don't think there is such a thing as early package ticket pickup anymore, if you have Magic Bands and an MDE account.

Cool! Thanks so much for the responses!

Three more questions:

1. about the FP+. So if I have 8 day hoppers, and we have a combined 8 days of resort reservation (3 RO followed by 5 on the FD bounceback) will I be able to make 8 days of FP+ reservations ahead of time?

2. I will be the only one in our party of 11 who has an annual pass. I need to go to guest relations at our first park entrance to make sure the AP is prioritized ahead of the 8 day hopper correct?

3. The 8 day hopper will stay non-expiring until first use at some point after my AP expires??

Thanks.

1. Yes, as it stands, the FP booking days are tied to your # of ticket days not the resort days.

2. Yes, that is my understanding from those who did that.

3. Yes. If it's a regular ticket, the clock won't start until you use it once.

No, you cannot set fpp for the days of your room only reservation. This is exactly my situation and made account will only allow me to select fop days beginning on the first day of my package reservation.

Also, I have not heard from anyone who has actually gotten their tickets from a later package to work at the turnstile without going to GS.

I would love to hear from someone who has actually tried this and had it work.

Just calling out if anyone has gotten park tickets before their package started?
Without going to any guest relations.

Example..
2 nites rooms only. 3rd night package starts.. You have two MBs But this doesnt matter I heard. So during the room only portion you go to a park and a park day from package ( starting next day) is used.

Has anyone done this??? I keep hearing it's possible but havent heard from anyone who has done it..

thnks

When you get to WDW, take your resort information and go to any Guest Relations outside a park.
They will activate your MagicBands' access to your tickets up to three days before your scheduled resort check-in.

Can they do this at a resort if you're staying CL?

So I've read that if I do a RO stay at the beginning of the trip and activate my park tickets early (they'll be linked to the 2nd part of the trip), that I can't do FP+ for those days until the MBs are activated onsite. So at my 60 day mark, I can do FP+ for the second part of the trip (7/6-7/11 at WL), but I couldn't do any for the 5th until we get there on the 4th and activate the tickets early? So what would happen if I keep my current reservation at WL (which begins 7/5) and do FP+ for all the days THEN change my reservation to start the 6th? What would happen to my FPs for the 5th then?

You should be able to book for the early part of the stay 30 days from your first day in the park.
But if your tickets are not already "long enough" for the full trip,
you'd then lose the FP+ for the last part of the trip (after you reached the full number of days
on your current ticket.)

So what about water parks? If we want to do the waterparks during our RO days before our package starts, will that affect our park tickets and FP+ for the rest of the stay? It shouldn't, right? Thanks.
