Not sure if anyone here knows the answer to this, but I thought I’d give it a shot:

I renewed my Gold AP back in early June. I have not been to a park since then to activate my “DVC Member Gold Pass Renewal Exchange,” as it’s listed in MDE. I can find nothing on the MDE site or the app whereby the voucher has any kind of number associated with it at all.

Do I need to go to Guest Services at a park or DS to activate this thing in order to get an AP number associated with my profile that can be used for Starcruiser early booking?

Please and thanks.

Not sure why you posted in the resorts forum. News or theme park forums might give you more replies.

Disney says an active annual pass is required. I interpret this to mean an AP you've actually used at least once, and started the one year expiration time period.
It looks like you have to call to book. Other AP exclusive events were done online and the system didn't differentiate between inactive vouchers and active annual passes.

I posted here because Starcruiser is a resort, not a theme park.

Thanks. I would activate it if I could, but my understanding is that to do so, you have to go to GS on-property?

The OPs question was regarding activation of an AP. No reason for anyone getting angry, posters in the theme park forum might have better answers.

The way I read it your AP needs to be activated. JMO that means going to a park and using it. Possibly requiring going to guest services first.

I could be wrong. Posters say you have to call to book. The system which let you book with a voucher might not work

For booking, what phone number should AP holders/Visa card holders call? I know DVC members wanting to book on points call MS.

That’s another question I had - if use use your DVC membership as your “in” for early booking, do you have to use points? Or can you do cash?

The DVC site was very clear that 1 person had to be booked on points. This is why we'd rather use our AP and/or Visa affiliation to book next week. We have really not been able to find any information on what time, what phone number, etc to call as AP holders or Visa card holders. I don't want to waste time by calling MS as we do not plan on using points.

People booking should consider travel insurance.

The deposit is 20% of the total cruise fare with the remainder due at 90 days prior to embarkation.
There is a 50% penalty for cancellation between 89 and 31 days prior to embarkation.
There is a 100% penalty for cancellations between 30 and the day of embarkation.
No date changes allowed within the 90 day window.
