!!!! Early Roll Call for January 21 2006 Eastern Magic Cruise !!!!

I will start the "old folks" list.

1) need a disney fix and DH
2) MdmMim
3) gydell

If you have to be older than 40 to be on the old folks list, you can count the both of us in. I have been watching the panama crossing today. The DD's were excited to see Mickey & Minnie.

I will add DW to the list. I will only be turning 38 two weeks prior to our sail date. Yeah, she robbed the craddle. I tell her that all the time. That when she went to her Junior Prom I was only in 7th grade. :rotfl:

the4nitz's, have you been glued to the "bringing home the Magic repo cruise" thread as well. I have been trying to catch glimpses of the Magic on the Panama Canel web cams, but I had to go out for a few hours today. When is it going to be going through the Gatun Locks? I've only seen pictures posted on the fore mentioned thread.

Jeff

It is going to go thru around 5:45 p.m. I am also trying to clean the kids bedrooms & go thru their clothes. School starts on Thursday this week here. 1-starts kindergarten & the other starts pre-school.

Thanks for giving me the time. I have to go out a take care of some landscaping, so this will give me some time.

DS starts on Tuesday. DW is a wreck the past few days (last day of day care and first day of K).

OK, I'm raising my hand but not 40 until October. Does that mean I can be at the bottom of the list? :confused3

My fellow cruisers, I am TOTALLY embarassed. I guess I should have reworded it. Those who are cruising without children...please raise your hand. I hope no one is offended by this.

SO, everyone who is cruising without kids...PLEASE RAISE YOUR MICKEY HANDS!!

We are all just kidding around....I am in my 40,s as my husband Robotyx60 reminds me of now..haha..and traveling with children that are not mine....my neice so I feel young...haha...my children will be 21 so I have to act like a child at heart with my wonderful neice. You are only as old as you feel and today I feel about 100...hahah. :rotfl2:

If we were cruising without young kids we would want the late seating for sure. With the early seating you do feel rushed in the late afternoon to get ready and you miss pulling out of ports. Also there is a feeling of being some what rushed at dinner to get out so the next seating can eat. We have early seating for this cruise and have had it for the past 2 cruises, but with our DD's 5 & 3 this was the only way to go. I'm sure as the kids get older we will go with the late seating for any future cruises at some point. Also DW and I are cruising in Sept 06 for our 20th aniversary with no kids (then we can be on the old folks list :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ) and have late seating. For this cruise we are just old folks with kids.

How crazy am I...
I am traveling with 6 kids and have none of my own!
I must be out of my mind!! Actually, the trip wouldn't be the same without my 5 nieces/nephews. (6th belongs to a friend).

crazy4M, I forgot to answer your question regarding how to request a rotation. Your TA could do it for you, or you could call DCL directly. I had my TA do it for our last cruise, but I called DCL for our upcoming cruises. If you want to have something noted on your reservation for the 8:00 staggered time (if available when we cruise), I would probably call DCL directly. Let them know that you understand they are "testing" it through early January, but you would like your reservation noted just in case they extend it or make it permanent. At the same time, you can ask them to put in the request for PLA. They will ask you what size table you want to be put at (4, 6 or 8). We take 6 so there is a better chance of getting another couple with one child. Then they'll put the request in. I think by them taking the extra step of asking what table size you desire, they are actually giving you the rotation. We got ours last cruise and I will let you know if we get October. We also have 8:00 p.m. staggered that cruise so I can report on that as well.

Laurie, we're all taking it light heartedly. But I do have a question now, since we have a child is everyone going to exclude us from the fun. I so feel Rudolph now, "they would let poor Jeff, play in any DISer games". :rotfl:

To everyone, as I said earlier, DW and I will be in Sessions most nights (excluding those when the comedian is in Rock'n D Bar and the night before St. Thomas - not going to bed late if I'm up by 6:30).

suejmj, if you're looking for more children, you can have ours too. :) Just kdding, I wouldn't give him up for anything (except for maybe the Walt Suite :rotfl2: ).

OK, Robotyx just twisted my arm and I am going to change our dining to late seating. Question...is there anyone that would like to link dining assignments? DH and I don't bite...MUCH!!
:rotfl2:

Laurie,

Are you seriously looking at switching to late seating? If you haven't yet, if you call DCL to do so, ask them if you can pass your early seating to someone you know or do they have to go to the waitlist. As much advantages as Late Seating provides, DW would still like to be on early on the 7 day cruise since DS is only 5. They may not be able to do anything since you are 2 coming off and we'd be 3 going on. Let me know.

My husband says that I should get our airline tickets now today because prices are going to go up. Any suggestions?

SandieT

Where did he hear airfare was going up? I keep checking every day for them to come down, but no luck so far.

Craig

He heard on the radio they were predicting they would go up based on oil prices going up so high due to Katrina etc. I'm not so sure. I mean common sense would tell us prices need to go up to cover the fuel prices for the airline but then they are going to have trouble selling seats. With gas prices so high people are going to shy away from driving long distances and chose to fly if it is affordable????? I really don't know what I am talking about, this is just my opinion, I am most likly wrong. I just wonder if anyone had an opinion based on past experiences. We do not fly much and so I never really pay attention to the ups and downs of airfare. :moped:

Airtran just released sale fares to Florida thru mid Feb. Check them out! I'm getting mine in about 2 seconds ($124 rt from Atl).
