!!!! Early Roll Call for January 21 2006 Eastern Magic Cruise !!!!

We're about 70% packed. And I cleaned my closet too! I now have 3 bags of clothes to go to Good Will. Yesterday, I also found that I don't fit into any of my suits! :scared1: I had to run out and buy a new suit yesterday and still have to run out and get a couple of dress shirts today!

Looks like we will have 1 Large suitcase, a HUGE duffel bag with wheels (hockey sports bag...it's really huge), two rolling "carry ons", a large backpack, and a small garmet bag with my suit and my wife's formal dress.

We're driving, so we don't have to worry about airline check in.

Stroller question: We have a 3 and 5 YO....we have a huge double stroller we take to WDW, but are not taking it with us this time. Does DCL have dual strollers for loan, or only single? I do have a backpack for my 3 YO, and could get the single stroller (or take our own single). Any suggestions about double or single umbrella strollers I could buy for a reasonable price?

I'm just afraid that the kids will get tired when we are doing the See & Sea Tour at St. Maartan, or the Tramway tour, etc.

We are also hitting Animal Kingdom and WDW the day we get back, so I wouldn't mind having a lightweight stroller to fit both kids if possible.

Can't help you with the stroller question on board, but I don't recall seeing many at all.

As for your tours, won't the kids be sitting on the bus or in the boat on St. Maarten? Also, the tram shouldn't be too far from the pier in St. Thomas.

As for the parks, don't forget if you rent one in AK, just keep your slip and you can get one for free on the same day in MK.

BTW, we are doing AK and MK as well on the Saturday we get off the boat.

I have been looking over the threads to see what everyone is talking about, it truely is a sorce of information. I think I will get bright colored tape for the handles of my suitcases. Good idea! ::MinnieMo As for packing .... I shall send everyone into PANIC MODE :scared1: I haven't even started. I've been working 12 shifts at the hospital and I'm too pooped to think about packing. However I have wed & thursday off. So my game plan is do some new suitcase shopping on Wednesday. Thursday I will go pick up John's suit from the store which should be done being tailored. My dresses from the dry cleaners and go home and pack. I'll pack a carry on with 2 days worth of clothes and bathing suit and towel. One suitcase for John's suit, our gowns and nice dresses and dress shoes. One suitcase a piece for our norman clothes and extra bathing suit and toiletry items. I'll carry my camera with me and a small soft sided briefcase to carry books and travel information with me. Of course, I will be packing our pirate outfits too. I plan on having Disney do the laudry mid way point if I have to. My daughter will pack her own as well as my hubby. Also will be taking the dog to the kennel on Thursday evening just to be on the safe side was going to do it Friday morning but decided to do Thursday evening. I have to go and get ready for work. 3p -3am and they certainly have been very long shifts.

Everyone---- will be cheering for Steelers cause they are from PA... will be picking up some pendants to wave around. Maybe even some cheap t shirts form wal- mart if they have them.

Jeff--- Do you think the Passporter is worth getting? Should I buy one?

Lisa--- Love the braclets once again.... Mailing you a money order look for it in the mail box. Hope you get it tomorrow.

Becky :hyper2:

Thanks Jeff for checking on Air Tran. We will be getting to the airport around 6:00 Friday morning, so it is easier to know what to expect.
Thursday - we will finish packing in the afternoon. Plan on taking the dog to Grammies when we pick DD up from school Thursday afternoon. Dog won't want to come home again after spending time at Grammies.

Where did everybody go? Packing perhaps?

Not me, still not packed  At this rate we will be throwing things in suitcases on Thursday as we head out the door. :scared1: I need packing fairies

I'm still here at work. It looks like its going to be another long night. I didn't get out of here last night until 10:00. Then home to pack more.

Jeff, thanks for the info on Airtran. I checked the TSA website and see the security time for Concourse E in the early AM is only about 4-8 minutes as compared to concourse D which is 10-15 minutes.

I wish this week would go by a little faster. We can't wait to start our vacation.

Craig

Craig, I have never had a week go so slow! Plus, I am not sleeping well at all cuz I am too wound up. I NEED A VACATION!!!! :rotfl:

We've been sick! I'm glad to get it over now though. We are fully dosed with antibiotics. The kids just did their 2 1/2 more days dance at dinner....

So, for us all....
3 more days!

:jumping1:

I have a tipping question - trying not to open a can of worms though! :teeth: And Jeff - no joking, I don't need another panic....

I was reading up about gifts for the kids' club counselors. What are other people doing, if anything...

Lisa

Good question? :confused3 I bought some thank you cards. Have the kids write them a note. I might just put some cash in them? :confused3

According to a post last year from a CM who worked in the clubs, everything is pooled. I guess that's equitable! They did mention that you should fill out a comment card mentioning the specific CM so they can be put in for a raffle. They then win dinners at Palo, spa treatments, etc. and divvy up the gift/phone cards that way.

I was going to go get a couple gift cards but I'm rethinking that now...

I was told that if you give cash to the CM's then they have to split it, but if you give a gift card of $25 or less then they can keep it. I will be giving Wal-Mart cards to everyone!

I had read that the CMs in the kid's clubs like consumables like candybars etc. I bought a ton of chocolate bars (possibly unique as they are from Canada). I also bought some pens with Canada on them. I may add a gift card???not sure and make up little gift bags. And of course thank-you cards.

DD10 is getting very excited. I made her a magnetic sign for the door with MMouse, Goofy and the gang on it. It says "I'd love to take all my friends with me but...get serious". She is going to take it to school tomorrow for all of her friends to sign. We'll put it up on our stateroom door with all the other signs we made.

Maybe I should start packing...I'll be going into panic mode soon. :scared1: :scared1:

I'm done!!!! I'm packed!!!!! It cold and snowy here in Massachusetts... I can't wait for the sun and warmth! Thank you Lisa and Jeff, I will make it to the party with or without a green bracelet!!!! Is there anyone from our area going???? I also do the long twelve hour shifts at the hospital and I can't wait for some freedom from it!!! Anyone hear what the weather is like?????
Will there be a final roll call posted so we know who to watch out for???? Thanks!

Heather, I just love your children's outfits. I just noticed your DD has Minnie on her pockets and your DS has Mickey. Something a grandmother (me) cannot resist!

I just bought different candy and made gift bags and will attach a little thank you note to it. I bought WAY to much candy and ended up with over 30 bags and from the navigators I saw there are about 12 CM per age group so I need only about 22 so will be giving the rest to our servers/steward and such DH thought I was crazy when I kept making bags but oh well you can never have to many and CM like to feel appriciated:earsboy:

I bought a huge bag of assorted candy since I will have one child in the club and one in the teen club we can split it up. Hope they like that.....
