!!!! Early Roll Call for January 21 2006 Eastern Magic Cruise !!!!

48 hours from now we will be in Cocoa Beach, at our hotel room and trying to decide where to go for dinner. :rotfl: I checked the forecast for this Saturday and it shows 81 and some clouds, but no rain. In the mid 80's for St. Maartin and St. Thomas. Looks like great weather on the cruise.

Lisa - my DH said he is packing Friday morning before we leave - AARRGHHH! I told him that wasn't an option, I wanted everything in suitcases by Thurs night at the latest! He acts like we are going on a 2-day trip to blacksburg to watch a football game. He isn't even stressed about it at all. Guess he leaves that to me! MEN!!
Rachel - Now if we're going to Blacksburg - it's easy packing. All Tech wear and chicago maroon and burnt orange! I've never done as much ironing as I have this week and it will probably all be wrinkled by the time we get there.  DH isn't stressed either. Amazing! Of course, he doesn't have to pack for 4 people either.

I see that the Pluto probe that was suppose to be launched today from Cape Canaveral was scrubbed again. For you that are leaving on Thurs. you may be lucky enough to be able to see a rocket launch, or if they hold till Sat. we all can see it.

Brett

DD came home from school saying her tummy hurt and now has a fever of 100.09 I just can't win someone ALWAYS is sick on vacation:sick: Hope she is better before Friday am when we leave and no one else gets it here or boy aren't we going to have fun NOT:worried:.

Clewert, I hope your DD is feeling better very soon. Hopefully it's just a 24 hour bug. Everyone stay healthy. We are all feeling good and keeping our fingers crossed that we stay that way.

Brett, Wouldn't that be great to be on the ship Saturday and be able to see a rocket launch. If they wait till Saturday, do you know what time the launch would be?

Looks like for us flying out of Milwaukee Friday we will have good weather. I hope no one runs into and weather delays during their travels and you have a safe trip.

Craig

Craig,
Don't know about Sat. launch but the launch window for tomorrow is aprox. 1:10pm to 3:10pm EST.

See http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/ for more info on the launch. We tried watching it yesterday. They will try for tomorrow between 1 and 3 pm. I assume that if that it's scrubbed again, they'll try for that same time on Friday. We were in Orlando when the Shuttle went up a couple of years ago, we had no idea and it was at night so what a light show!

Crystal - I hope your DD is feeling better. There is definitely something going around - my kids had it at Christmas! It was short lived so hopefully it's the same. I know how you feel though - it always seems to be at vacation time. <Hugs>

Crystal, sending :grouphug: and pixie dust your way!!! :wizard: Think nothing but happy thoughts...everything will be okay. :flower:

Becky, Rachel and Lisa,

LOL about packing. My DH is NO help. If it were up to him, we'd pack on Saturday. When he noticed that I had dropped one of his suits at the dry cleaners he asked why I was having it cleaned!? ;) His brain just doesn't get the whole pre-planning thing!

I actually did start packing today...of course my three year old thought he would "help" by unpacking. :crazy2: I pick up my daughter from Tampa (where she goes to tennis boarding school) tomorrow. We're shopping, getting manicures/pedicures and heading home to pack. With her help, I think I can finally pull it all together. :cutie:

Safe travels to all of you as you head out across the country! The weather here looks good...let's hope for clear skies, warm sunshine and smooth sailing! :sunny:

Lisa

Crystal,

I hope that your DD feels better soon! :wizard: I've been sick for the past week and I NEVER get sick. We all just need to get on that ship! :flower3:

For those lucky few leaving tomorrow have a wonderful flight and a great time on your pre cruise vacation. I am so looking forward to sunshine and meeting everyone from the boards.

Our packing is 90% done and will finish tomorrow night. Our flight leaves at 5:30 Friday morning so tomorrow night will be a short one cuz the airport is 40 minutes away! The mad rush at work ended today so tomorrow I will go to work and leave early to get a manicure and my hair colored ;) . Can't have nasty roots on a cruise. :teeth: Like everone else, Jimbo and I are so excited we can't stand it.

I send my best wishes to everyone leaving tomorrow. I assume all of our fellow cruisers in that category are busy getting last minute things done and not on here! See ya all real soon!!

Almost forgot to bring the winter jacket, hat and gloves. :cold: To leave in the car, of course, for the drive home.

Thanks for the wishes for safe travel tomorrow. We were scheduled to fly at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon, but the airline has about 30 seats open on the 7:30 flight. It looks good for us gettng on the early flight. We should be at POFQ by 1:00.

Jeff

Guys, I am the one that is going to be at Grills to see you guys of on Saturday. I told Jean I would take pics of you guys.

Can anyone having a child in the lab do me a huge favor and hunt down a CM named Nombusu from South Africa. I need to figure out if she is going to be on our April 8th cruise. I have a goodie box of things for her. Could you either find out from her or get an email address for her. I can't thank you enough.

Judy

Well, I have finally started packing. Right now I have moved everything from my office to my livingroom floor :scared1: I'm not sure I will be ready by tomorrow. The good news, I have pretty nails and toes. :cutie:

Wow, it's finally almost time to meet you all. :cool1:
I have so enjoyed getting to know you through the threads on this board. Be so much better in person. ::yes::
Leejay22 I can't remember the last time I saw an iron in your hand! :scratchin :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Dad and I are sending out our ironing on the cruise!
We have an early flight from Los Angeles (LAX) on Friday so are headed down to an hotel there tomorrow night. Meet up with Lisa and family  in Orlando, staying at the Hyatt at the airport on Friday evening
Finish packing tomorrow. I have to drop our golden retriever Britannia :dog: at the kennels. Bet she wishes she was going to grammies house (like one of you posted, but can't remember who!)
I told windermerejudy to bring her binoculars so can she can spot our group waving to her as we sail by. :flower:
See you all on deck, looking forward to putting faces to names, I'll be looking for those lime green bracelets as soon as we get into the embarkation hall! :cool2:
Jean

Crystal - hope you all are feeling better. Maybe some sunshine will do the trick!!!

Got a lot done tonight and unpacked some things. We are a little lighter, but still ridiculous. I think we need one more 29" roller to replace two smaller ones and it would make the luggage easier to manage. Or maybe a rolling duffle bag.

Anyway - lots to do tomorrow, hope I can get it all done. Maybe DH will kick it in gear and help out a little tomorrow night. He did pack up some shirts and shorts tonight that I wanted to put in the big suitcase.....and then proceeded to go back to reading his book! How can he do that???? I am a nervous wreck of extra energy......not to mention the kids who are just a TAD BIT excited!

See you all soon. I have my fingers crossed for a delayed launch at Cape Canaveral. DS would LOVE to see that. But I'm sure it will launch before we get there.

Rachel
