4warmwishers,

If you are considering Coki Beach, make sure you look into Coral World. It is right next door. Seeing that your DD3 is going with you, that may be of interest to her.

I know on their website, http://www.coralworldvi.com/, there is a coupon for $3 off Adults and $1 off Children.

Jeff
Jeff,

We were going to do Coki Beach so we may try Coral World. Thanks for the info re their website however the coupon expired Dec 31, 2005. I have emailed them to enquire as to new coupons and will post if I get any info.

One question: how much time (approx) should you allow for a visit to Coral World?

Thanks again for your infinite wisdom and experience! :flower:

I have a question for the cruise veterans. DH and I are staying at the Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach. What time should we arrange for a taxi to take us to the Port so that we can get there right after the gate opens?

I just received the emial confrimation that our documents were sent by DHL today. I guess I have to unload all the winter clothing from last weeks trips to Maine and upstate New York.

TA just emailed me, docs are in and I'll have them tonight. Yipee.

Also I got an email from Coral World re their coupon, it read as follows:

"Thank you for your interest in Coral World. We are in the process of updating our web site. In the meantime, feel free to use the expired coupon as we will continue to honor it well into the new year. We look forward to welcoming you to Coral World soon!
Sincerely,
Allegra Kean
Assistant General Manager &
Director of Marketing
Coral World Ocean Park"

Does anyone know approx how long we should allow for a visit to Coral World?

Now for the big game tonight ...Canada goes for Gold in World Jr Hockey. Wish us luck. :bounce: :Pinkbounc :cool1:

Hi all! It's been a crazy week in our household. DS turned 5 and other DS turned 3 (they are one day apart).

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the bracelets! My daughter has added them to her armful - I think she's up to about 8 of various types. This one is by far the easiest to see though - that green is bright!

Speaking of bright, we are ready for some sunshine. :sunny: It has not been as cold or snowy as some of you have - but very dreary.

And we are still document-less. I ran to the door when I heard a delivery truck last night but it was a present for the boys and not from DCL! They were excited but I wasn't! I want to do the dance! And then I'll feel like we're *really* going.

Enough rambling. I'm procrastinating - need to finish putting all the Christmas decorations away!

We got out braclets yesterday. The wife is going to fill in the letters with a black marker so they stand out better. No one will be able to miss our DIS group on the ship or shore.

I checked the normal highs for St. Thomas this time of the year and it is 86. Two years ago when we were there it was in the low 90's. Oh by the way, I got the worst sunburn I have ever had that day. It was just my head, (not much hair on top) :rotfl: but I really fried it. Last year I wore a hat, I learned my lesson.

Hi Lisa-

My DS is turning 6 on the 18th so I'm getting ready for his party too. We are doing most of the celebrating on the cruise though. :wizard: Here's some pixie dust hoping your documents come soon so we can all dance with you.

My neice is turning 10 on the 18th. That is why she was lucky enough to get to cruise with us. We plan on celebrating on the ship also. :wizard: princess:

Hi Soccrmom! We took our niece on the Magic a few years ago to celebrate her 11th birthday. She turns 16 this spring! Time flies...but she still remembers (and appreciates and talks about) the trip! princess:

I see you cruised on Mariner last year. We cruised on her in March, 2004. It will be interesting to hear your comparison to the Magic. :flower: We had a nice trip with RCCL, but definitely prefer DCL. :cheer2:

Just checked the available rooms on DCL.

Cat 4 = GTY only
Cat 5 = no rooms
Cat 6 = no rooms
Cat 7 = no rooms
Cat 8 = no rooms
Cat 9 = GTY only
Cat 10 = 1 room (7001)
Cat 11 = 4 rooms

Looking pretty full. :earseek:

Jeff

I get to do the braclet dance...  . Thanks for the room update...I will need a super dose of pixie dust now for an upgrade..haha..I guess I will take care of the engine room..haha. :Pinkbounc

I have not gone there personally, but we researched it last year because that was our original plan. Then DW decided she wanted to go to Magens Bay since it was listed in the top 10 beaches in the world and she threw out the "what if we don't get back here" speach. Now that we are on Eastern #2 this month, I guess we should have gone with the original plan. This year we booked St. John's Island tour "just in case we don't get back there again". That was before we booked Eastern #3 for January 2007 on board in October. Anyhow, back to the topic.

According to the PassPorter, among the complaints from people who did the Coral World tour through DCL was the length of time spent at Coral World, which is about an hour and a half. So based on that, I'd say you'd probably want to figure 2 to 3 hours. Not certain, but if you do it on your own and plan on some beach time at Coki Beach, just figure your day will be spent out there. BTW, the other complaint from the DCL tour was that the drive over was "not well narrated". But then again, this wasn't an Island Tour. Passporter also said that the people who did the tour, said they'd do it again but on their own.

The Fodor's write up didn't give a time allotment as they usually do. The write up sounds great though. I can post it if anyone wants, but it is a little long.

Hope that helps.

Jeff

Picked up my docs yesterday from the TA - yeah    Then I cam home and had my passport in the mailbox. Called today and found out that the other three passports are to be mailed on Tuesday.....it'll be close but looks like they will make it!

Anyone doing Doubloon in St. Thomas? We are going with the kids and hope it will be fun. We are headed to the pool at the gym to get used to the water a little before the trip. I'd like them to try out the mask and snorkel that Santa brought.

Gotta get back to work. Things have been busy - can't believe the cruise will be here so soon!
