!!!! Early Roll Call for January 21 2006 Eastern Magic Cruise !!!!

I hope each and every one of you and your family have a most wonderful New Year's Eve. Just think tomorrow we will be in our cruising month...wooohoooo pirate:

I would usually be depressed January was coming since my birthday is the 30th but this year I have something to look FORWARD to OUR CRUISE YAHOO!!! :cool1:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only 21 more days.................

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alrighty everyone, the holidays are over. It is now time to start packing.

3 weeks from today we will be out at sea on our way to St. Maarten.

Jeff

I have started filling out our Docs!!!! That makes the cruise seem soooo close. DS8 can't wait to eat Mickey waffles every morning for breakfast. I have a Mickey waffle iron and once in a while make those for the family, but he says they just aren't the same as the ones on the ship.

I started filling ours out too. Christmas decorations came down today inside but too much snow outside to take down the lights. Now to start packing...........

GREAT NEWS EVERYONE. IT LOOKS LIKE WE ARE GOING TO BE DOCKING AT THE MAIN DOCK IN ST. THOMAS (Charlotte Amalie)!!! THIS WOULD MEAN NO TENDERING!!! :cool1: :cheer2: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Here is a link to the St. Thomas cruise ship schedule. Go down to the 25th, the day we are in. The Disney Magic has nothing listed by it, so that means we are at the West Indian Company Dock. The Norwegian Sun has to go to Crown Bay.

Since this is our first DCL cruise, I have no idea what this means, but since the veterans are happy dancing...I will too!!!

Laurie, If you are talking about docking in St. Thomas this is good. We will be pulling right up to a dock that is near all the shops and near the Tram. If we would have had to tender, that means we are in the harbour and would need to take a small tender from the cruise ship to the dock. As far as the other dock at Crown Bay, you would need to find transportaion into town for the shops and other things. Also I guess Crown Bay is no where near as a nice looking place as where we will be docking. If you are taking the Tram to Paradice point, you will have an awsome view of the harbour and the cruise ships. We are going there again this year.

Craig, thats exactly what I thought and I had a feeling that this was a great thing to transpire. Thanks for the info!!!!!!!

Ok I want to go there BUT have an excursion booked from 12:30-3:00 so I will have what about 3 hours before and what an hour after before having to be back on the ship is that enough time to go up and take some pictures real quick?

Crystal,

You should have plenty of time in the morning to take pictures. You might feel a bit rushed if you wait until after your excursion.

Only 19 days until the Magic begins! :wizard:

If you really want to do this, I suggest you head over to the tram after we dock and the ship is cleared. That way, if the excursion runs late, you still had the opportunity to see the view. It is truly amazing! I wish I could post a picture from our cruise in January '05 (I still can't figure out how to post a picture). I was not expecting the view to be so breathtaking. Our pictures looked like postcards!

We are sooooo glad we will not be docking at Crown Bay. We have tendered twice before, so it will be nice to be at a dock which is so convenient to everything.

Great thanks for the info I saw it is pretty close to where we are docking and that is was a 10 min ride up so figured we would have time in the AM to go up and have alittle time up there also :cool1: I am so freakin EXCITED 19 MORE DAYS!!

WOW it is a great view I was looking up pictures last night and got so excited and then booked the excursion from DCL just a few minutes ago  The excusion says ALL DAY so am guessing you just get a day pass to go up anytime you want?

Great picture, Craig. Thanks for posting! We've travelled quite a bit throughout the Caribbean and we still think the St Thomas harbour is the prettiest. :sunny:

When looking at Craig's picture, look in the second bay, just to the right of the "finger" of land that comes in from the left. At the base of hill (second one from the left on the land mass on the back side of the bay) you see what looks to be a boat with a white top and a black bottom. That I believe is where the Crown Bay dock is.

Needless to say, there is nothing out there, not to mention very far away from the main town.

Jeff

p.s. Great Pic by the way Craig. Thanks for posting.
