!!!! Early Roll Call for January 21 2006 Eastern Magic Cruise !!!!

PiperG just checking in to say thanks for all the well wishes. I am feeling very lucky and doing well.

As DH said, we received our docs. It sounds as if dinner can be as early as 5:30. Yikes!!!! That is early! Hopefully we are all a little later so that we can enjoy our Dismeet. We are realy looking forward to meeting all of you.

Jeff (or anyone else?),

Now that you raised this it brings a question to mind for me. I have a heart/lung condition and would have a hard time standing and waiting for a long period of time to board. Are there places to sit? If there are I don't mind the wait at all. If not, how long a wait might it be? We have booked the 10:30 shuttle from the Radisson.

Also, I was wondering if previous cruisers could tell me how long/far a walk it is from ship to Stingray Encounter on Castaway Cay? I'd like to try this but I have to guage the whole physical activity. Although it says "mild" for the excursion, is the walk to get there going to wear me out? any experiences?

I appreciate any advice. I'm one of those people who hates asking for help so sometimes I push myself. If I know things ahead it helps to plan. :sunny:

They do have a few (note few) seats in the terminal. I'm not sure what would constitute a medical or handicapped condition that would warrant a group 1 boarding. I would say that if you had a doctor's note, ask the CM at check-in and maybe they would be able to help you out.

As for the stingray excursion on CC, it is at the far end of the family beach, past the teen beach. As for a "mild" excursion, I thought DCL's website listed it as "moderate"? Anyhow, you'd be in the water and I would assume that you could stand out there with them. If you really want to do the stingrays, I would suggest doing one of them in the afternoon. That will give you time to make it down to that end of the beach. You could go aways, stop and shop, then continue on, stop at the bar for a conk cooler, then maybe eat lunch, then make it the rest of the way. If you break it up, it won't be that long of a walk.

5:30 is definitely early. Now the late seating that we have is sounding better.

Any indication what rotation is that early? I know most everyone here I think is trying to get the PLA.

SandyM, Stephmicksara, Need a Disney Fix, gydell, clwert, the4nitz's,

GTY means Guaranteed. You are basically guaranteed a room in at least the category you booked (i.e. book GTY 8, you'll get an 8 or better).

Your room is not assigned at the time of booking. You will get your room number later.

Hope that clarifies it.

Jeff

Thank you! Makes sense had I thought about it...

I was looking at a Navigator just now and it has a little chart that shows:
Lumiere Animator's Palate Parrot Cay
1st seating 5:45pm 6:00pm 6:15pm
2nd seating 8:00 pm 8:15 pm 8:30 pm

On the DCL reservation page, it shows that we're at 6:00 so can I safely assume that I have the APL rotation?

Man - no one told me this vacation was such a fine science!

No, the time listed on your reservation is just indicating that you have early seating. We have late, so our time is listed as 8:30. When you get to port, you will find out what rotation you have and also what time you are to go to the restaurant.

Jeff, thanks so much for your infinite wisdom and experience. I love your suggestion about getting to the stingrays. Even if I don't do it, DH and DD10 may want to do the excursion and I can watch (with conk cooler in one hand and camera in the other).

As for the terminal, I think I'll just take my chances. I could get doctor's note but hopefully I can grab a seat or the wait won't be too long. I can always rest up once on board. Thanks again.

Piper G - glad your ok. What a thing to happen at this time of year. Try to enjoy shopping for the new car.

Rachel - good luck with your tests. Hopefully everything is well and you can relax and enjoy the cruise and get some much needed respite.

I am doing the "sort of" document dance!!! My TA emailed and said she has our docs and will be sending them to us!!!!!! Do I need to get a life or what????????

I saw the UPS truck at the bottom of the hill (driveway) yesterday. Since our house is so far back from the road, many times delivery trucks can't find us, so our packages are dropped off wherever it's convenient--and are often hard to find. I knew our docs were on the way, so I quickly drove down the hill and flagged the driver down, wildly waving at him :hyper: :wave2:

I asked if he had anything for us--and he did!! Our docs have arrived!! :boat: :fish: ::yes::

I haven't heard from my TA yet that she has my docs. :sad1:

She usually sends me an email letting me know they got to their office. Hopefully we will have them by the end of next week.

Has anyone who went through a TA got theirs yet?

Jeff

crasy4M - I bet if you ask someone that is sitting if you could sit for a while they would let you. leejay22 - thanks!

Guess it is the luck of the draw cause I see that our other TA Sandy is not dancing yet either...no upgrades..no docs....where are the perks of the job....haha... :rotfl:

YAHOO!!!!! :cool1: TA just called and the docs are here

I checked with my TA and she said that she called Disney yesterday and was told the docs were sent out. However, she had already received the overnights today and it wasn't there. So with the holiday Monday, she expects to see them Tues.

Woohoo! So I'm with everyone else on the almost there document dance!
