Early Roll Call for 10-31-04 Happy Halloween Cruise aboard the Wonder !!

Marley,
Well I guess that is a good reason to stay somewhere else! What is your home base? We have some points at BCV and Saratoga Springs. Have you been to either of those?
Stephanie:bounce:

We are doing Disney World Polynesian before the cruise. It's back to the old grind when we get off the ship:(

Stephanie: We have points at HHI which is the most relaxing place I've ever been and we have points at WLV. We went the to the WLV this past pre-Christmas break and there is nothing like it at the holidays. Simply breathtaking.

As for BVC, it is actually our very favorite in warm weather. You can't beat the pool there. We've only seen SSR from a distance but it looks really nice.

The only thing about BVC I don't like is the bus system. It is shared with entirely too many resorts. I know they have been working on that problem and hopefully they will come up with a better solution.

Marley

TROD - BOOOOOO for the daily grind!

Marley - I really wanted the points at WLV but Ralph convinced me to go with BCV. I figured we could always go if we wanted to.

When you talk about the bus system, do you mean there aren't any seats by the time you get on at BCV, or that it makes too many stops at other resorts?
Stephanie:Pinkbounc

We have personally had the problem of waiting forever. If I recall, the buses go to the Swan and Dolphin, Boardwalk and then the last stop is BVC. It makes the ride to the parks short but the ride back when your ready to get back to your hotel room seems to take forever.

I have also read though, that because the buses stop stop at so many hotels, during higher peak times people have to wait for more than one bus because there is no room by the time it gets to BCV.

However, do not fret, you are clearly not going at a high peak time and Epcot, which might be the most crowded due to the Wine Festival, you can easily walk to from BCV. You can also take the boat to MGM as well.

Marley

We are traveling on the Wonder on October 31st. It will be my our first ever cruise. My husband and I are travelling with our 4 year old son and 10 month old daughter. We are so excited!

We NEVER ride the buses anymore. The waits were too long, the stops were off schedule and when we ended up on a crowded bus, we felt like the whole thing was going to tip over.

We stay at Yacht or Beach Club and either take the boat to MGM or walk to the back gate of Epcot. From Epcot we can take a monorail to MK. You can also get to the Grand Floridian via the monorail. Parking is free at the parks when we stay at a Disney resort, so we drive our own car (we live in Orlando) to AK. Its faster.

marley: I was thinking that if I don't see you in the boarding line, I can pick up our door sign at the starting point for TOTing. I will need to be there to hand out the bags to all the kids before it all starts anyway. I'd be more than happy to get our "neighbors" as well. There are 3 others right by us (John & Lise #2071, Brent & Shana #2076, and Jerry & Jennifer #2068)

I am getting more excited every day. I am getting my costume tomorrow.

A belated welcome to apieper. Enjoy your cruise.

Barb

Barb: sounds good to me. My MIL made our costumes and they came in the mail today. The kids are almost bouncing off of the walls now :bounce:

Called Disney this morning and they said they should have the Navigators for our cruise put together by next Monday. I'll call first thing and find out when their TOT is to make sure it doesn't conflict with ours. I'll also get a heads up on the movies on board in case anyone is interested.

No one in our group leaves before next Monday, do they? I think Kellie and Jay are the first to leave.

Marley

hello all! :)

we are driving to Albuqureque,NM on the 26th and flying out on the 27th. my countdown is off by one day.

for those of you with AP or DVC, they are going to have a preview of the stitch ride on nov 4,5 and 6. i cant remember if these are the exact dates but they are very close. this info was in the disney insider newsletter and i deleted it !! sry! also, a few of the incredible characters will be in disney MGM starting the 4th or 5th :)

We leave on the 27th as well.

"they are going to have a preview of the stitch ride on nov 4,5 and 6" :( Why couldn't it be by October 28th.....why.... My DS is going to be very sad. :( He has a stitch costume for MNSSHP (10/28) and for our T-O-T.

Marley, has Hayley been checking her pen pal email?

Barb, I have ordered a gift basket from the perfect gift. Shirley is supposed to make the basket out of a carvable pumpkin and include T-O-T bags, plus I have heard they hand out T-O-T bags at MNSSHP. So, if we receive the basket in time for the DIS T-O-T, we may have some additional T-O-T bags available for distributing.

Bill: Just spoke to my husband and apparently when my computer got back from the shop, he never reinstated Hayley's email account so she hasn't received anything. I'll see if somehow he can retrieve emails. Hayley was just talking about Anna yesterday and was going to email her and see when Missouri gets snow and if you have mountains. For some reason her and her brother were having this discussion on the way to school yesterday.

If no one has read the movie thread yet someone posted about the Magic, it looks like these are the movies we can probably expect:

Around the World in 80 days
Brother Bear
Confessions of a Drama Queen
Finding Nemo
Princess Diaries 2
Raising Helen
Pirates of the Caribbean
Mr. 3000
Home on the Range
Village
Miracle

"Hayley was just talking about Anna yesterday and was going to email her and see when Missouri gets snow and if you have mountains. For some reason her and her brother were having this discussion on the way to school yesterday." I'd have to say that is an odd topic for the way to school. I'll pass it along to Anna. She'll get a kick out of it. How old is Jason, 4? Ben will be 5 on 11/1. Ben loves computers, maybe they should do a pen pal before we leave?

It is funny that you just posted the movies, because I was about to do the same thing. This is what I saw on one thread (maybe it was the same as you, posted by MN Dis Fans):

"You can call for the movies showing by calling: 1-888-325-2500, choose "reservations" and they will tell you what's playing.

I called yesterday, and was told the "Incredibles" would be premiering on the Wonder on the 5th Nov. I was also told the following movies would be shown:
Around the World in 80 days
Brother Bear
Confessions of a Drama Queen
Finding Nemo
Princess Diaries 2
Raising Helen
Pirates of the Caribbean
Mr. 3000
Home on the Range
Village
Miracle"

Our luck isn't going to well here, miss Stitch by a few days, miss the Incredibles by a day.........

By the way, DW was wondering where she might be able to pick up laundry tablets? She has tried a few stores without success.

well, all of us will be in single digits by the end of the week. I am enjoying this time leading up to the cruise and looking forward to our sail away party and then later meeting everyone at the dis meet. during the past week it has been in the 40s at night and 50s during the day and I am anticipating the warm weather again if only for ten days. stephie and I have only 7 working days left and that is a great feeling, most of you know what I mean. now, if the yankees could only manage to beat the Red Sox this evening and win the pennant...... hmmm.................

Bill: Jason just turned 5 on September 1st and I will be putting both him and Hayley in the 5-7 group in the club, even though Hayley is 8. They do better together. Since Ben's birthday is during the cruise, what age group are you going to put him in?
Jason would love to write Ben on the computer. Should I have him send it to Anna's address or yours or does he have one? Jason's email can just come to mine.

As for the laundry tablets, I found them a while back at Wal Mart. However, if she can't find them, I usually double baggy powder detergent and it works just fine. I actually prefer it that way.

Marley

Ok everyone....the Yankees need all the good vibes and good mojo you can send our way! I can hardly bear the thought of poor Ralph having to live with a red sox victory all winter long. He goes into baseball withdrawl as it is - it would be torture to live with a loss all winter!

But....back to reality....going on the cruise will at least soften the blow if the unthinkable happens....we are soooooo looking forward to vacation - I can't seem to keep my mind on work...what a surprise!

:jumping1:
Stephanie...whio is mentally on vacation already!
:earboy2:

Hi all....

I am trying to put together a couple of door signs...and am not having much luck. Does anyone have any Disney clip art they can send me? Anything would be fine...maybe the Wonder, or anything related to the cruise?? Also, I can't get the Disney-like font to work on my computer. Has anyone had this problem? It acts like it is downloading, then I can't find it anywhere....

Are Brent and I the only two adults that aren't dressing up? It sounds like most of you are...but we are not. Oh well...guess we'll be out of the norm! I have my Frankenstein Goofy Halloween shirt...but that's the extent of it!!

We leave one week from tomorrow....so much to do!! This is the time..until we leave...that I start getting a bit nervous about everything...can't help it...it happens every vacation we take!

Let me know if anyone has anything they can send me...shoot me a PM and I'll send you my e-mail address.

THANKS!!!
