Early park admission or Express Pass?

We have a Disney trip planned at the end of October and are considering adding staying in the Universal area one night mostly to visit the HP attractions. There are 6 people in our family and the prices for one night at the deluxe hotels are in the $600-800 range :rolleyes2

That's not gonna happen ;) So, I'm wondering if it would be better to stay at Cabana Bay for $200/night and get the early park admission or to just stay off site and pay for park to park + EP tickets.

What do you think? Any other tips? Thanks!

If you choose a non Halloween Horror Nights day, the crowds shouldn't be a big deal.

I would also keep checking for Annual Pass rates, Promo code APH. You may be able to get two rooms at the Royal Pacific for not too much more money than you're budgeting now.

Early entry may well still be a godsend for the HP stuff. End of October generally coincides with the UK half-term so you may find it busier than usual with the crowds. Also HP main rides (gringotts and FJ) don't have express pass lines so I would definitely say it would be worth the Cabana Bay for that rather than paying for the express or staying at a pricier Universal hotel where it's included

If your plan is predominantly Potter......then go with CB.........and yes, try and choose a non HHN as Studios closes at 5 on those nights.
