I am planning a trip to the World for early November, when the value season starts, for myself, husband and two sons (2 & 6). I was interested in what sorts of discounts were historically available for this time of year, weather, and crowd size. We've been in late November before, the week after Thanksgiving, during Mardi Gras, and in late April, but never early November. Please let me know your experiences during this time of year. Thanks in advance.

My wife and I spent 10 delightful days at the BoardWalk Inn, from Nov 1-10.

The weather was sublime: pleasantly cool in the mornings and evenings (in the 50s -- pack a sweater!) and just warm enough, around 80, during the day.

And the crowds were very manageable. You can easily sleep in and shlep into the parks late in the morning and still see all you want, with a minimum of waits (using fast pass, of course).

Beware, however, of the Super Soaps Weekend. MGM was MOBBED (though the attractions themselves were, curiously enough, walk-ons.)

Also, the Food Festival will be going on, which affords some terrific adventures in dining over in Epcot -- but it can get a tad crowded, with all those foodies lined up at different stands, waiting for samples.

Nonetheless, a great time to go. Disney usually offers a Fall Fantasy package of some sort during these months. Go and enjoy!

If you're planning a trip for that time of year, you might want to consider going for Halloween.

Disney has lots of neat stuff for the kids -- trick-or-treating in the Magic Kingdom (pack your costumes!) and decorations and the not-so-scary Halloween party. People we met who took part LOVED it.

By going 11/8 - 11/16 our first weekend featured both SuperSoap and the dreaded NJ Weekend. In my opinion they amounted to nothing, at least when compared with our usual first week in March trips. As noted earlier, MGM was crowded, but the throngs were there to see the soap stars and congregated in those areas. Rope Drop just up the street from ToT was the least attended I've ever seen. The line at drop time was no more than 6 deep and we rode ToT and Rock'n RollerCoaster numerous times without Fast Pass.

During mid-week, crowds were less, ALL rides were walk-ons for the first hour or so and Big Thunder RR was the only one we used FP for. Tables were available for every Epcot restaurant at lunch time and we had no wait at all for Trail's End breakfast buffet, the best food value in WDW IMHO. One morning we had a leisurely breakfast there and didn't eat again until about 4 pm.

Of the first 4 days there, 2 had record breaking heat, above 88 degrees. It rained one night, breaking this down to a comfortable 75. I'd go again this week in a minute, but family concerns require a March 2004 date for our next trip. I'm already planning!
