I have this exact same question!
We are going to be in DL on Thursday 2/19 (using early entry as hotel guests)...
Normally PP is our first ride...with Matterhorn 3rd of so....
(We're not interested in meeting A & E...)
1) What should be our new strategy now??
2) Is Pixie Hollow open during Early Entry?
3) Should we jump in the Nemo line right before the park opens for everyone else (before the line grows?)
4) Where would Story Book Canal boats fit in to this??
I feel so lost...my whole normal morning line up is all messed up! ahhhhh!!

Matterhorn, who does ride that first thing in the morning???
I would think Dumbo should be #1 with Alice
1) I would think Dumbo should be #1 with Alice being #2. Then do whatever you can in Fantasyland. When the park opens do Casey Jr.
2) Do not think so
3) I would recommend waiting to do the subs at night and use that time to check out Toontown or the Westside (Adventureland, New Orleans Square, and Frontierland)
4) Do Storybookland at night when there is nothing else to do.
Subs, Storybook, and Small World are huge time wasters. Better to do two attractions instead of one.
I agree on that. The one time we got in line for the Canals during early entry it took most of the entire hour just to ride. And the line wasn't long. They were only operating one boat. We would have to wait for it to go all the way around and come back before anyone else could reload.
That one vehicle per attraction thing sort of happens with the Matterhorn as well (one side). You usually have to wait for the park to be open for a 1/2 - 1 hour after for some of the attractions to be running at full strength
.... which stinks because the times we have gone by then the line is 45 minutes long.
The line for certain attractions may even get shorter when they create more capacity.
For example, Matterhorn may be a 15 minute wait when the park opens since only one side is open, but turn into a 5 minute wait a half hour later because they open both sides.
A 45 minute line would wrap around the mountain, I've never seen that at park opening. Even Space Mountain doesn't get that long that quick. Maybe on NYE.You must have had much greater luck with the Matterhorn than us. 45 minutes into EE I have always encountered at least a 45 minute line.

It did wrap around the mountain. Right up to the sign that said it was a 45 minute wait from that point. It was on a weekday during the second week of this past December. Same experience the same week last year. I was very happy to remember at that point that it had a single rider line.
I would guess that there might have been another major attraction was down.
For example, when Indy breaks down Jungle Cruise and Pirates have longer waits.
