We just got back from 9 days at WDW and I'd like to pass on something that worked for us.
While the Disney Transportation system is probably superior to all others, we used our own vehicle to go to Epcot, MGM, and The Animal Kingdom. Fort Wilderness will provide you with a parking permit that you keep on your dash. This permit is good in the parking areas of all the parks and parking will not cost you anything. Early entry means there will not be many people in the parking lots when you get there and your walk to the entrance will be a short one.
When you are ready to leave, this short walk pays off and your next stop is your camper. I am sure we saved 15 to 30 minutes each way on all of these trips.
And another word on early entry. The earlier you get there, the cooler it is. It was hot as hell the fist week of June by 11 am.
