What if the customer base is wanting more Mine Train availability? It is offered to everyone. If this event were free-it wouldn't help at all IMO-they would just line up sooner.

Well the solution there is obvious... provide sufficient rides and attractions to match the volume of people in the park.

The attendance has grown hugely over the years but attractions have not.

The problem with that is they already give one hour early admission everyday for one or both parks to hotel guests. It's not like WDW where there are days without AM EMH. Also, the park(s) that has early admission stays that way for a significant period of time, rather than changing from day-to-day. This would drastically eat into one of their hotel advantages; however, the express pass is still worth it.

We still hope, if they have resort fees ... And they then increase them. They could say any " extras" are part of resort fee. Or a add on like paying for luggage

That's exactly what they are doing with this. 3 rides for that volume-but heavy on the Mine Train. MK has a ton of rides for the volume currently. Adding more will still leave 7DMT packed IMO.

At one time the focus was on making the experience good for everyone now they have moved in a very different direction. That's reason enough to complain. At best the company is being tone deaf to its core customer base. Spread them out, offer some stuff that doesn't cost extra in between.

Just like 7DMT they have listened to Soarin and TSM. Those are being added on, something they can't do for 7DMT.

Guests want evenings at AK. Answer was ROL, Night Safari and Avatar Land.

Same with Frozen. Could have been all new but jury is out how that will turn out. A&E could not be predicted but they are now getting a home as well.

DHS was a half park according to guests-look what they are adding there. Toy Story Land, Star Wars Land and PH3 maybe 4, and even further improved Star Wars Fireworks.

MK Hub had to get horrible feedback and that is now amazing. The exit nightmare as well and that got new bypasses.

Need more dining at MK so Skippers is added and BOG.

More deluxes need DVC option so the add CR/GF and POLY.

DS was likely an answer to a more pleasant looking atmosphere and interesting dining and shopping.

FP+ believe it or not is much more dispersed than the old method. Most that don't like it were getting a larger % in the past-can't blame them but now more guests get some. This may be the biggest example of making things Better For Everyone.


How anybody can conclude Disney is being tone deaf to its customer base, and is not trying to make experiences good for everyone is beyond me.

All of those little blurbs coming out really do look like we're approaching the end of EMH in it's current incarnation. The table-service mention does make me wonder if this is a type of experience where you can stroll earlier in Fantasy Land to do the very popular Mine Train and Princess Hall and then grabbing breakfast at BOG or CRT?
Frankly, I can't wait for Disney to come out and make an official announcement instead of teasing everyone. It would also be super helpful to finish my planning for our next trip in September.

Yeah but that's a major reason to stay on property. You get rid of EMH and I just don't see how it doesn't hurt Disney. Guessing this is a trial balloon. I hope it fails miserably.

I think there will be more to it than this, more attractions for sure. The night thing got leaked too early, Disney wasn't ready and it was to be part of other announcements. Certainly had it come out on time we would know more like a hint at the characters etc. I think they are scrambling to get this all pulled together and get out there....

Food for thought -

- Guest A pays extra money for "extra morning magic hours" in Fantasyland to go on rides with no lines with their sticker button.
- Guest B makes a pre-park ADR (paying nothing extra they wouldn't pay to eat later) so is in park while these rides are running.
- Guest A is loving the shorter lines they paid for.
- Guest B eats their cupcake and runs to the lines expecting to ride as has been happening.
- Guest B is told "no sticker no rides" and proceeds to get very upset. Their child watching others ride while they are told no.
- Guest A will be very upset if Guest B is allowed to ride without paying for the privilege.

How is this going to work????

When the money keeps rolling in...they don't ask how.

1998 always comes up because that was the year AK opened. That's when the Walt Disney Company started to really become cautious with their money and stopped adding so much all of the time. If Disney didn't do anything to DHS now it would start losing guests.

Since 2000, there has been one major attraction...Midway Mania. Everything else has Been space fillers. Look at your list.... A museum attraction with little replay value in One Mans dream, a kids only Jedi show, a slight rework of an existing show in Dis Junior (the show has been a puppet kids show since the late 90s), a mediocre stunt show, an a mediocre American idol show that is closed but was added during this time bringing us to 2011.

You also left off the cheap crappy attraction showing us films like the Lion witch wardrobe, etc. that was again a walk through with little replay value.

Look at the last 4 things....

Launch Bay is a temporary thing to fill the void with closing of the Art of Animation (which was allowed to dwindle to garbage) attraction. It's only real value is as a shopping place.

Frozen is another mediocre show that was cheap to make and do.

Star Wars Path of the Jedi was again temporary, very minor and designed to pimp the new films.

So in this list from 2000 to now, how many really good rides have gone into DHS? Just one.

Everything that's been put in has been cheap. It has little replay value.

The park didn't evolve. The last major attraction to open was 7 years ago.

You are entitled to your opinion. But nearly everyone else is going to disagree with you greatly on this. it should have never gotten to this level. Too many shows, not enough rides.

I do with the additions coming to DHS that gives the park what 9 rides? Is that enough? Look at MK that has around 20. DHS was built for a parade yet it doesn't have one. Entertainment has been cut. LMA and Honey I shrunk the kids also leaving. Nothing major has been added to DHS in 8 years! That's too long and it shows. That's why it's a half day park.

Exactly one ride has opened at DHS since 2000. Two if you use 1998.
