Early morning magic capacity

Someone who attended the first one said there were only about 25 names on the list at the gate. Of course, each reservation could be for multiple people. Myself and 2 friends are going May 14.

I think this event is more likely to stick around than DAH. Because the event is so much smaller in scope, it's much easier for Disney to make a profit. Did anyone see any reports on how PPO Be Our Guest reservations were affected. Were those guests still able to ride early?

I agree, of the two, the morning session is the most likely to stay.

I honestly think both are going to tank

Riddle me this, if there are so few people in the parks and on the rides for these early morning Magic and after dark hours, why do people have to get off each ride and reboard? It seems like it would be easier for everyone if when the ride stopped, riders who wanted to exit the ride could exit, new riders board and then people who want to ride again just stay seated. Josh from easywdw reported that it too, him 12 minutes to exit Winnie the Pooh as the ride empties into the gift shop, you have to walk all the way around the tree, weave through the empty lines of the normal que to arrive again at the boarding area. If the park is really that deserted, doesn't that seem kind of silly?
I was able to remain in my car at Winnie the Pooh upon request when there was nobody in line.

I was also told that each ride has its own rules about guests riding from the unload area through to the load area. (Due to safety reasons. Lap bars and whatnot). My guess is that it wouldn't be allowed on mine train.

Does Josh have a mobility disability? Or did he stop to buy something in the gift shop? It should take no more than a minute or so to leave The que and return.

They did have a cutthrough inside the mine train que so you could go straight back to the load area upon exiting your train. You could easily be on the next train coming into the station right after yours.

We had one reservation for 8 people and they had to flip the page to find us. (Under 1 name) Not sure how your friend would see the whole list if there were multiple pages?

That could be fun, except how many times would a person want to get soaked on splash in the morning? BTW, I absolutely know it's possible to ride that without getting wet (did it myself once) but if you're riding multiple times, you're more likely to get drenched at least once. Not something that sounds good to me first thing in the morning. Then again, based on what I was hearing from last fall, getting drenched might be just as likely on POTC! :crazy2:

As hot as it was this week, we enjoyed riding splash first thing. However you do make a good point!

Also other than some splashing from the cannons we didn't really get wet on the 5 or so pirates rides we took this week.

I think the real surprize here is that both morning and evening hours are not even close to reaching full.

To me that is a indication Iger and his Igertorn may have found the limit guests are willing and able to pay.

They have made a number of price cuts. Does all this mean guests have reached their limit.......have they had enough cut backs and.price increases?

I'm not sure this is accurate. I went to both events last week. Now granted the nighttime event was discounted, but I thought there were tons of people ther considering how limited they want it to be. And of course the morning one I went to was a "sellout" at reduced capacity.

A sell.out at reduced capacity?

There was another threat today saying at the start there was only 25 on the list and the estate all.toll about 50 or.so listed.

As to the evening there has been repeated re ports of being empty. Photo showing empty streets.

They were giving away ticket, and reducing the prices all over including 50% off to aps.

I'm pretty sure they said 25 or so groups on the list? If some are groups of 8, they will get to their desired capacity of 200 pretty quickly (current capacity 200 - as stated they plan to keep increasing allowed capacity to 300 or ideally 400 a little at a time).

I'm pretty sure that even if there were twice as many people in the park as there were today - no one would think poorly of it.

I think it's still a poorly marketed event - but at the same time - if they are still trying to work out the logistical kinks, I think it's smart not to mainstream market.

Can't argue with the reduced prices or free tickets. But I'm telling you I was there, and there were a lot of people at the nighttime event for what i was expecting based on the desired exclusivity of it.

As far as only 25 people on the list for the morning event. I already addressed that in this thread, but I'm telling you there were multiple pages on the checkin page, and we were a party of 8. So using that post from another user may not be the best guide.

of course the streets were empty. People were on the rides. now a lot of the lesser rides were ghost towns, (buzz lightyear specifically) but we saw other guests and sometimes lots of guests at almost all of the rides.

The reason they only announced so many dates as it was a popularity test. To insinuate that a couple of low attended parties means that the public has reached its willingness to pay more to disney is short sighted at best.

my guess is that they won't extend the nighttime party, and that the morning one has a better shot of being extended. But just because it may not be extended doesn't mean its a failure. Disney will take what they learn and apply it to the future. I would be willing to bet we see another round of these parties at some point slightly tweaked a bit.

Given the price of the event, I would guess groups of 8 to be the exception and not the rule. Purely my guess though.

Well we will have to see what happens. I Do agree if one does stay it will be the morning

If they told people who wanted to come the afternoon before the event that they couldn't buy tickets, Then it was a sellout. If it was a sellout the narrative that its not popular and Disney's greed is coming home to roust, doesn't fly with me. I believed them that they sold 200 tickets, and I believed them when they said they sold all the wanted. (because they turned people away)

The same person who commented also said the place was empty.

I was not there so I will bow to your first hand knowledge.

We will have to.see what happens.

Yeah, Its funny how empty a place can look when its built for 70,000 and you have an event for 200. I tried to take that into account when thinking about it. but IMO the whole point of the party is to get to spend time in fantasyland when it feels empty.

I appreciate your discussion :)

I for one hope the morning event or one like it remains, because imo it was totally worth it!

I probably wouldn't do the nighttime one very often at the $150 price point. I would probably do it nearly every trip at $75

Well we are morning people so I agree it would be the.morning session for us as well.

If it were just my husband and I on a trip together, we would likely do the evening event, but we would spend the morning/afternoon doing resort/pool stuff and then head to MK for the evening. I wouldn't use a day of my park tickets and do this special event as well.
