We are going to MK this Sunday 2/2 and we are early RD people. I noticed there is a EMM that morning. We are not going to pay the extra money to attend. Our plan was to go to BTMRR at Rope Drop.
I’m sure all the people already in the park for the EMM will already be headed over there so is it pointless to do that first? Or should we hit jungle cruise and pirates first? We do have FP for BTMRR for later in the day and we have Space and 7DMT FP as well.
Just curious how the crowds already in the parks affect the RD strategies.
Thanks!

I'd stick with your plan. Some EMM people will be headed that way, but others will be headed to breakfast, Space Mtn, Splash Mtn, etc. I would be at MK early and toward the front of the smallish crowd going that way. The EMM people are also held in Fantasyland, so you should be getting to BTMR about the same time.

You could rope drop BTMRR first (definitely not pointless) and then work your way back and do Pirates and Jungle Cruise.

We rope dropped an EMM morning last February vacation and did Jungle Cruise, Pirates, and then our first Fasspass was BTMRR. I want to say by the time we got over there it was about a 20 minute standby wait - just before 10am. The plan was to ride Splash as well but it wasn't running when we got there.

I think a good chunk of people in EMM are going to tend to hit up Space Mountain for rope drop since the breakfast is in Cosmic Rays in Tomorrowland.
Right, one thing about EMM is that most people try to eat breakfast AFTER 9 am. A typical approach is to ride from 7:45-9, then do one more ride right at rope drop, then go back to breakfast. In that case, it makes way more sense to stay on the Tomorrowland side.

Also, EMM is not that many people anyway, and MK is big.

I wouldn't worry too mch about it. The number of people in EMM usually isn't enough to make a big impact on RD crowds.
Some will be headed toward Space Mountain, some BTMRR and many heading to breakfast.
