If we were to arrive early morning around 6am do we have to pay the day before so we can go to our room? We are planning on staying at the All Star Movie Resort from March 3rd to the 9th...

The earliest I've ever checked in was 7:00 a.m. The room wasn't ready until later in the day, but we had purchased a package so we were able to get our park tickets and dining credits. I don't think you have to pay an extra day to check in early in the morning, but be prepared to wait until late afternoon for your room. I've had varying luck, with my room being ready as early as 10:00 and as late at 4:00.

I believe the system "rolls over" to the next day at 7am, so 7am would be the earliest you could check in that day. If the hotel is pretty full the night before, you may have to wait a while for your room. The earliest I've been able to get a room that's ready was at 9:30am with no room requests. On our last trip in September, which has low crowds, our room wasn't ready until 2pm.

Same here but we were lucky enought to have the room available for us right away. The cool thing was ... we took the red eye the previous night and when we got there we checked in, did a little park time, came back to the room. took a 4 hour "nap" and then did another park that late afternoon/evening. It really felt like we got an extra day for free.

Only if you want your room guaranteed to be ready when you get there otherwise you may not have your room till 3 pm or so.

When you can check in and when you can go to your room are not necessarily the same thing.

I've check in at POR at 8am and my room was ready. I checked in at noon at AS Movies and had to wait until 3 pm for my room. I think it all depends on how busy the resort is more then anything else if you get your room early. BTW when I check in at 8am, I didn't have to pay anything extra

We've checked in and gotten a room (w/o paying for another night) as early as 5 am. It's happened twice once at CB and once at ASMusic.

However I think they've changed the system since then - we arrived on a later trip at 6 am and were told we had to wait until 7 am.

As mentioned, you will only be allowed to check in once the system resets for the new day.

There is no guarantee that the room will be ready and you may have to wait but there will be no charge and you can get your keys, dining plan credits (if you are getting a dining plan) and your tickets so you can head to the parks.

However, if you really want to be able to check in and have the room, then yes, you would have to have a check in date of the day before and let the resort know you are going to be arriving very early in the AM the next day.

We were able to do a 6 am checkin in Sep, no prob. Our room wasn't ready, but we received our key's, etc.

We always check in early, around 7 am. But our room is never ready till afternoon. We just leave our luggage with bell services and go to the parks. Are you wanting to get into your room in the early morning to sleep or shower?

We drive through the night and arrive around 5am and have been able to get into our rooms and sleep/shower prior to hitting the parks. Good Luck I am guessing you will be surprised that you may get your room! Around 7am it seems to be to late to get the rooms that were left open the night before.

we've been there as early as 5am but generally get there around 630-7am and it's been hit or miss for the room being ready. just depends on whether or not there's a full resort...remember they don't have to check out until 11am so someone may still be sleeping in papa bears bed. we just get our kttkc and they text us when our room is ready.

Also be flexible with any room requests. If you will take any room, any location then I would think the odds would be pretty good they can find you a room that's ready early...unless the resort was at 100% occupancy the night before. Good luck!
