I went around the 2nd week of May last year and the crowds were great, usually 15 min waits except for AK. The weather was also nice, it got a little hot and humid but I'm from MS so I was used to it.

We're going from the 9th-15th! Im excited! I have never been during this time. When we went in Sept. it was brutally hot. 105 one day in Epcot. I really hope its comfortable in May. I have plans to go to AK on Mother's Day as I can't see my moms wanting to spend the day there. At least I hope.:rotfl:

We were there last May as well. I'm surprised you considered it hot and humid. We are from the far north, we loved it, and we are not fond of really hot weather. It was in the low 80's every day. Great in the water parks, and great for a night time swim.

I have been to Mississipi once, in late June, and that was very hot and humid!

I agree with you on the crowds though. It is a great time of year to go.

We're going May 10-17, and can't wait!!

I'm hoping for warm but not blistering. We're not used to humidity, so I hope we don't roast.

We went to DLR last year about the same week. I was so excited because the forecast was calling for high 70's low 80's all week...even the day before our departure we checked the forecast.

The day we arrived it was a stunning 98 degrees. We melted into the pavement :rotfl: We didn't even blink, just ponied up for the $18 misting fans. :lmao:

It was only like that for maybe 2 out of the 7 days we were there

We always go early May (4-10th this year). We love this time of year. Crowds are not bad, weather is fantastic, usually about 80 and sunny. If it does rain, it's brief and mid-day. We are from Michigan, so it's usually about 50-60 and rainy here at that time of the year, so it's nice to get out of the misery to the Sunshine State!

We have visited WDW in early May (First or Second week), every year since 1995. I go the same time every year to celebrate my daughters birthday while at WDW.

My observations; prior to 9/11 and including the year after (2002) the crowds were lighter the the years between 2003 - 2007. IMO, I believe that people felt safe to travel and take vacations again in large public venues.

In so far as weather; I have traveled to Central Florida for business and pleasure a number of times at different times of year and have found that the temperatures and the humidity to be most enjoyable in early May, (For us).

Now, that's not to say that it can't be humid, it can, but not like the humidity in the summer months. Over the last 13 years, 1999 was the only year in which we had rain/thunder storms every day in the late afternoon, (between 4-6:00). The other years have been very nice. During the day I would say the average temperature range 86-92. The evenings. between upper 60's - low 70's. That's nice weather in the evening, but it can feel much cooler, depending on how strong the wind is.

This our favorite time to visit WDW.

Have a great trip.

I've gone in the first half of May several times, and it is a nice time to go. The crowds are pretty light (though not as light as in September), and the weather is usually in the 80's, but not brain frying hot.

Later in May is probably more crowded, as some of the schools may be out, and Memorial Day weekend will be busy.

We go the week before memorial day for the following reasons:

-Crowds are pretty managable in may (Other than Memorial Day weekend)
-It is Flordia's lowest avg rainfall
-It is hot but not brutal like it is in July/Aug
-not many people from our area vacation in May so it is easier to coordinate everyone getting itme off the same week

We always go in early/mid May and find it to be a wonderful time to go! Nice weather, manageable crowds, Garden Festival. :thumbsup2

Early May is a great time to go. It can be warm during the day, but it is ok. The crowds are not too bad, just use the fastpass system.

I love to go in May! This is the first time in a few years we won't be going for Mother's Day. The weather is great and the crowds are not bad at all.

Mother's Day at Epcot was a bit busy, I'm not sure about the other parks. They do have a Mother's day brunch there so that could be why the crowd were heavier. The weather while we were there was in the mid to upper 80's. I thought it was hot, but I guess that's all about perspective. It rained (I mean poured) twice once at night, all night and again on our last day. I think from 6p-9p. The crowds were okay, it was 40 min wait for Splash mnt at 5p

We've gone in May on two of our last three visits and we're going again this May. We love it. Crowds and the heat are both something easier to deal with. Can't really remember waiting too long for rides, maybe a few attractions but I also think if you time it right or use FP's then you still should be able to make good use of your time. We'll be there 5/4-5/12 this year, maybe we'll see ya there and not even know it.

Enjoy!

Early May is a great time to go. We try to be there around the second week. It gets busier closer to Memorial Day. The weather is perfect, though. Sunny and not too hot! Just watch out for those love bugs. They're everywhere.:flower3:

Going on my first May trip ever... May 5th-9th... with my mom. Love all the positive responses on this timeframe! Thanks!! :thumbsup2

We go in May all the time!!!Always!! Can't wait,we go may 5-13!!!!!
