Our family usually prefers going to WDW in October. Main reasons being weather and crowd sizes. We are thinking of going in first week of May in 2022. Just wondering what the weather and crowd sizes are like at that time of year. Yeah I know there is no slow period anymore like there used to be.But is there much difference in early May compared to October. Thank you ahead of time for all the responses

IMHO-
Weather: May no hurricanes, October possible hurricanes. The high and low temperatures for May and October are about the same, with May getting progressively warmer as the weeks go by and October getting progressively cooler (at least we/Floridians hope so).
Crowds: 1st week in May least crowded, getting progressively busier through the month. Food & Wine and Halloween tend to keep October busy.

I agree with all that @cellomom posted and will throw in relative humidity. October's is much higher than May's, which makes it feel hotter in October even though the actual temperature readings are nearly the same.

We’ve always enjoyed our late April/early May trips and are planning one for next year. Luck has been with us weather-wise for the most part; in late April 2019 it was particularly glorious. :goodvibes But yes it can be humid and uncomfortable.

I like october. Went in December of 2020 and that was nice. have to go in September this year due to the point shift.

I've done the first half of May twice in the last three years. In 2018 we had more rain than I consider normal even for Florida, but this past May was awesome. Our first couple of days were only in the 80s with pretty low humidity. Thanks to these visits, I have also come to really adore the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival. It's kind of a sweet spot between Spring Break and summer vacation. Not slow, but enjoyable.

We love the first 2 weeks of May and have gone numerous times. Now we tend to work around the grands’ school schedules. When I take some work friend, the schedule is more flexible

We went in the first week of May this year. It was as hot as the face of the sun. 89-94F Hotter than the times I've been in July.
Weather in FLA is a crap shoot. You just never know.

We take one trip in late April early May and a fall trip. We have gone in late October. We have hot weather 90F+ on most trips. April of 2021 trip was probably the coolest April weather we had. Only 2 days above 90. Our late October trip back I. 2019 was hot. 90+ almost every day, but it was unusually hot. We now go in mid November and the weather is usually in the 80’s or upper 70’s.
