We are having a hard time getting the room/date combo we are looking for so we are expanding out date ranges to see what we can find. One TA has found a March 5th sailing and I was wondering what the weather was like at this time of year. We are also planning a 4 night WDW stay (prior) to the cruise, so your comments about the weather in Orlando would also be helpful.

Appreciate the input.

Are you looking at a 7 day or 3/4 day cruise?

We went on the 7 day Eastern in 2004. The weather in Port Canaveral was cool, Castaway Cay was high 70's - warm enough to swim, but not really warm. The Carribbean was hot - low 90's.

I think the weather could be hit or miss in the Bahamas, but consistently hot in the Carribbean.

This is a 4 night sailing. The TA's are telling me that for a midship Cat 3, the only thing available is March 5th, and then not again till May 14th.

I wonder what the likleyhood of something opening up between those dates in my 4 room preference (8032, 8034, 8532 & 8534)? We would really prefer to sail in Mid April. I also wonder if bookings can be changed if a room does become available? Anyone?

Guess I got on this a little late!!!

The weather in Orlando in March is usually really nice. I live just outside of Kissimmee. It usually around 80 degrees and beautiful blue skies. Our rainy season does not start until June, so march is warm, no humidity and sunny. We love to go to all the Parks from October through the first of April, because that is the best weather of the year.
We have cruised on DCL in March too. It was around 80 and very windy. Most people still swam in the water, too chilly for me, but I'm a coward when it comes to the cold. I think the water at CC was 85 degrees when we were there in March. The wind was the only draw back, you couldnt rent the water crafts due to the high winds. But winds in the tropics is normal and it's a warm wind, not cold.

If you go to WDW in March, remember that March is the month that most states have their spring breaks, so it will be extra busy that month. It wont matter on the ship, because they only have so many people that they can house at a time, but WDW can max out during March. Especially at MK.

I'm resurrecting this thread because we have now booked the March 5th sailing and are still concerned about it being too cool. Not so much for the cruise but for the 4 nights we are going to spend at WDW. We were going to do those nights first then move on to the cruise, but maybe we should reverse it to cruise first than WDW? Will 5 days make a difference in the weather? Don't really know, but would appreciate anything anyone can add on early March weather.

Our TA is searching for later sailings, but he's only come up with Late April which would put our WDW stay right in the middle of easter week. Not something I want to do.

Any help is appreciated.

Roveer.

Roveer,
Your correct you dont want to be at WDW at Easter time unless you like standing in line for hours. MK maxes out around 10 in the morning on Easter weekend. It is crazy then.
We live 30 minutes from WDW and go almost every weekend and have 2 kids that work there so we know it pretty well. March is usually very good weather. We love it from mid October until around the end of May for weather.
We are usually in the upper 70's with a slight breeze every afternoon No rain or humidity. The summer months it rains everyday, very humid, and way too HOT in my opinion.
The only draw back to March is that it is spring break month across the U.S.
So it does tend to get busy at the parks. The middle, through the end seems to be the worst for crowds. Not as bad as Easter weekend.
But if you start your day when the parks open and use the fast pass system you should be ok. Also as a perk for guests staying on Disney property they have an early open hour at a different park each day. We avoid that park and go to one of the other 3 because 2/3 of the people there are at the early open park, which cuts down on the crowds at the other parks. I know that is reverse of what it should be, but it's true.
If I can answer any other questions for you please just ask and I'll try to help.
Good Luck,
