Early Flight, thinking about taking uber/lyft

We have a 7:45a flight home on a Saturday, guessing ME would be about 4:45am. I'm considering taking an uber/lyft to MCO instead to get a few more zzz's, think 5:30a would be okay? 5:45a pushing it too close?

5:30am pickup would be about as late as I would do. Personally, I try to arrive at MCO 2 hours before hand. Granted, that might not be needed at that time in the morning, but I'd rather be sitting at my gate for 90 minutes (for example) than arrive 2 minutes after they close the door.

We're flying Southwest if that matters.

I would take ME and not take a chance just to sleep for 30 minutes more. That little 30 minutes can cost you more aggravation than it's worth. MCO is busy practically all day and night. And if you are flying on Southwest, as you know, there are no assigned seats, just boarding positions. I am assuming you will have 'family boarding', but if you are running late, and miss family boarding, then what? Less choice of seating and risking possibly not sitting together? May not be a big deal, but at 6am with sleepy children and rushing around, that little 30 minutes can make a HUGE difference. In my opinion, I wouldn't chance it. I would leave with ME as the original plan. Next time, I would try to plan a later departure flight. Have a FANTASTIC vacation, whatever you decide. Make it Magical and Memorable !!!!
