Early February- VWL?

Hi! We areplanning a cruise from Feb 2-9, and then we are going to Disney World with my parents. We are going to be ther from the 9th-18th I think after the cruise ont he 9th we are just going to stay at POP, then move on Sunday the 10th to DVC. My parents will be arriving that day, and will be staying at Fort Wilderness in their RV. We would like to stay at VWL because of the ease of Transportation between the two.
So, my question is this- I am going to book Feb 10-18 at SSr my home resort this week- then in July I will try to change to VWL- should I call day to day for this change, what are the chances of getting a one-bedroom at this time- Presidents day is actually on the 18th, the day we will check out. If I try to change day by day, and there is nothing for that last couple of days at VWL can I just keep the room at SSR for those days? Would I have a better chance of getting a studio at VWL? There are only 4 of us, we would prefer the bigger room but could make due with a studio if needed. Any thoughts from the experts?!

Hi, If you really want VWL I would suggest doing the day by day calling. But I did get a studio at VWL last Feb.right before Pres. Day and I know I booked it much later than the 7 month window. But It is always a good idea to make your plans as early as possible and use the waiting list if you need to. Good Luck! Joan

It seems like there is always greater availability for 1 bedroom villas over studios too, so that will be in your favor. We were there in Feb this year just before President's Day and it is a great time to visit. Low crowds, short lines, and warm enough for us Northerners to swim!
