Early Entry Question

We are staying at the swan this October for my birthday. My sister in law (who lives in Fl), will be staying with us for one night of our trip. We plan on "sneaking" her into to the hotel for the night, but we are wondering if their is anyway to get her in for early entry into the parks. We are all using park hoppers, and we have heard that they just check your room key at the park. My question is how well do the check it? Do they swipe it or just look at it? My current plan is to "lose" my key at the swan and get another one, and give her my "lost" key. Will this work?

Just wanted to take a moment and welcome you to the DIS, snoopy5386. Hope you enjoy it here.

I think you will get a 'variety' of answers on this one. An early Happy Birthday wish to you. :earsgirl: You are 4 days older than my son. :)

Snoopy,
I'll be the second to welcome you to the DIS and the first to tell you that I don't like your plan. Sorry, but I'm too honest of a person to consider/support anything like that. Still wishing you a happy birthday and a fun trip in Oct!

Your friend can stay with you, no problem, but they swipe the cards for early entry and your friend won't get in.

Wow, sneaking her into the room without paying, then trying to sneak her into EE, I cannot wait for the answers to this one.
Should prove to be amusing reading.

I was wondering if and how many children are with you on this

trip. We teach our children by our actions. From what I

understand you have no problem with stealing from others. Any

justification would be interesting to hear.

Actually we are all adults on this trip. "Sneaking" into WDW early runs in my family. When I was a kid and they had early entry (before the swiping tickets) my dad would park (for free) at the polynesian and we would go in on the monorail. I haven't really been to Disney since, so I thought this was more the norm. Guess I was wrong. I will probably buckle and pay for her to stay the night at the hotel. It just seemed like a waste of money.

the OP's question was "Will this work?", not "Do you approve?"

I have no trouble with "sneaking" your sister into your room, I don't think it would cost you anything anyway, tell them she is coming, then she is a resort guest and the whole issue is moot...

But, FYI, if you LOSE your key, they "deactivate" all keys that go to that room and reissue. I know this because we went with my best friend and her family of four and her son lost his key THREE times...and his hat...and his sunglasses...and his camera...

First off I think you can have 4 people in a room right? If that's the case (and you fall under that limit) there is no need to "sneak" anyone anywhere. This is where you made your first mistake here with the hotel room/park ticket police. You assumed what you were doing was wrong and were just looking for someone to tell you it was alright.

If your sister in law is staying with you for the night there is no reason at all that you can't ask for another key for her, but it won't have a park ticket on it...again your message about losing a key here was leading towards "scamming" a free pass (not saying that was your intention, but that's what it sounded like (obviously to more than just me). Additionally, if she's a Fl resident doesn't she get a great deal on a pass for herself anyway?

I think you'll be fine with the room issue and the early entry if you get her a key..I know for sure, that you could have a room key and not have pass on it, and there's no law that says everyone in the room has to have a room key.

Now everyone can jump on me for my "advice" but I am simply answering the question, the moral aspect of what you do is entirely on your own conscience.

As a shareholder I would absolutely discourage any attempt to damage (even a little bit) the revenue stream that ultimately pays my dividends and increases my stock value.

We only did EE once (AK) this trip; we had "paper"tickets that we bought separately; we stayed at the Swan. We had 6 people total (two rooms) and as we inserted our passes they only asked to see one room key (though I asked if they'd like to see all of them).

Since all will be staying at the Swan, and assuming it's within the four to a room limit, I don't see an ethical problem. The "extra" person will be staying at the Swan (and probably spending some money there also). As one other poster said, you probably could get a room key for her (legimately - not through a scheme), but it may not even be needed.

Ok, Obviously a lot of people have misunderstood the question.
We will all have regular park hoppers (not ultimate park hoppers) to get into the parks during normal disney hours.

What we want to do is be able to have sister-in-law come with us into the park for the early entry hour on the one day she will be here with us without actually registering her at the Swan as a guest to avoid paying the extra money for having a 3rd adult in our room, because at Disney you pay per person and not per room.

So my question is, how do we get her in for early entry without a room key? Is there a way to get another key? Do they only ask for one room key per party?

Any help would be appreciated.

At AK they only asked for one key for our whole party (6 people).

How much extra is it to have an extra adult in your room? I thought it was only $25 a night. For that little, it would be worth it to just pay it, get a room key, and not have to worry about it.

I doubt they will give you a hard time at the gate, just say you are all in one room and have one room key to show for it. As the throngs are passing through the gate it is unlikely they are going to stop and figure out how many adults are registered to your Swan room.
