Spent the last 4 days in the parks and there were definitely not any capacity restrictions. On Friday (3/4) I had reservations at HS. Woke up and got 755 Slinky on genie (planned on skipping Rise this trip) then headed to the park for early entry, was able to do RnR, Tower and Smugglers by 945. Wandered around for a bit before heading back to the pool with the plan to go back in the evening.

I then focused on the Genie, every two hours beginning at 11 I picked another LL pass…by the time I was done I had:
620 Runaway
655 Swirling
725 Toy Story Mania
755 Slinky
And was able to add an 810 Smugglers after Swirling. Risky because LL often disappear but was able to knock it all out…thought someone might find it useful.

So the first Slinky available for you at 7AM was for a 755PM LL?
That makes sense. There are only 8 rides at HS. Seven hat can be booked with genie+ right now. Six of them can be booked in advance of that day by DAS users and their party. Capacity limits are a real thing.

What time did you start to get the evening genie times? Were you checking at 4 or 5 pm or those
were the times starting at 11 am?

Oh, wow. I didn't realize the DAS thing.

I'm not sure how long it will be a thing though. There is a high amount of waste going on with them judging by Facebook posts. Not that Facebook special needs groups represent typical Disney guests. But the attitude appears to be they are bonus rides and no harm comes from not using rides you've booked. Unlike traditional in park DAS advanced rides have a firm usage window. There is no way for the system to know if an issued slot is going to be used until the window passes and no one uses it. At that point ithat capacity is lost.

People did that with free fastpasses too. Heck I was guilty. I book and burn fastpasses in tiered parks to get to the ones I wanted. Or I'd book and my daughter would be having issues and miss the window. It was free so who cared.

So, a DAS party of 6, for instance, books a 10AM Slinky and doesn't make it in time because they decided to sleep in instead?

Trying to understand what you mean.

Two different issues.
Your DAS holder has an issue and you unable to make it during your hour. It's a wasted slot.
Your DAS party starts something else or they go someplace else and going to use the 1 hour window isn't convenient. It's a wasted slot.
It was an idea that seemed like a fantastic idea on paper. And for many people it's fantastic. And for many people the very thing that makes it extremely hard to be in a traditional queue is the very thing that makes it hard to book a ride at a specific time in advance.
A company that has spent a easy billion on revamping it's ride access system to maximize guest flow and then spent some more revamping that isn't going to sit idly by and watch capacity go unused for a long time. That was my initial post on this thread.
