My first post - I've been lurking here for the past few days! I have not been to Disney since the mid-80s . . . and am excited about taking my 3-year-old son. I have a question about dining at the Animal Kingdom. We are doing a late breakfast at Tusker House and I'm wondering about what to do for early dinner that day. The park closes at 7 pm. Would you recommend leaving the park for dinner at Boma or dinner at Yak and Yeti? I'm assuming that if we eat at Yak and Yeti, we'd be able to hang out more in the park after dinner, which probably would not be the case if we went to Boma. But Boma seems like it's getting much better reviews.

Thanks for any guidance you can give!

Boma does have good reviews and will provide you with a chance to try African food, but seeing as you haven't been to the park since the mid 80's, you might want to stick around and enjoy the park more. It all depends on what is more important to you; spending time in the park, or dining. I recommend eating at Yak & Yeti to save as much park time as possible.

I haven't eaten at Yak and Yeti yet and its on my list for the next trip. Every time we walked past it, it smelt so heavenly. That being said, we loved Boma and dh says it has to be a must do next time. I'd lean more to spending the time in the park but if you have a good plan, you might be ready to go for a 6 o'clock dinner or something like that.

You decide which place you want. You can get a Boma ADR for after 7pm so its not an either or unless you feel you really need to eat sooner. We had a 10am CS breakfast at our resort, ice cream at AK then Boma dinner at 6pm in late August we were fine.
