Early December stay

My husband and I are planning an early December stay. We’re wanting to keep costs as low as possible so are looking at All Stars. Just curious about groups that may be staying at these resorts the first week of December. I’ve looked at the WWOS website and don’t see anything for our dates but I’m wondering about other non-Disney sponsored events that may be using Disney hotels. Does anyone know how I’d find that out?

Not sure if there might also be info out there regarding conventions on site during that time (although that probably wouldn't impact All Stars as much). But in reality, things like that are going on much of the year and I'm not sure you can actually avoid all of it, if that is your concern. But if there's nothing at WWOS and there are no big running events in early Dec.... all you might have to worry about are the normal holiday crowds that will be coming in December!

Thanks, I was most worried about the big sporting event groups taking over the resort but it’s looking like we may be ok.

Early December is a very popular time with the discounts, decorations, lower DVC points, etc. Pop Warner moved from WDW. I don't think you are hitting on a convention type event.

See you there 😀 We will be there.

December is just too close to winter breaks for school groups, and I doubt there will be those types of groups at Disney. If I didn't already have a MVC booked early December I would be booking at AllStars.

It doesn’t look like there’s availability under any special offers that’s ere eligible for. I see there’s a Disney+ member offer but we’re not members. Just curious if anyone who is could take a peek and see if there’s anything available under that offer for November 30-December 5? If that’s an unreasonable ask I apologize, we’re just trying to figure out if it’s worth the bother to sign up to get the discount. Thanks😀

I’m not seeing anything available under the Disney+ offer for Nov 30-5.

We booked December 1-3 at riverside. I had to check every day until it showed up. I’m not sure if that means it’s going to be insanely busy but there is basically nothing left for resorts that weekend (for AP discounts)

Ya, I’m wondering if we should think about a stay starting on the 3rd, avoiding the weekend. We thankfully do have a bit of flexibility.

We’re doing the Christmas party on that Friday

I looked at all the AllStars ~ rooms are available full price so availability is there. No rooms for D+, General Discount, AP discount or Florida Residents. MAYBE the closer to dates if occupancy is not what they hoped they may drop more rooms.

A lack of discounted rooms doesn't mean that those rooms are all booked. Each hotel determines how many rooms they will offer for each discount. It could be X number were D+, XX number were AP, XXX for General Discount, XXXX Disney Visa etc. Also the number of nights you are trying to book can change the availability. I was booking February or March and availability changed to zero once I tried to add certain nights. Dates definitely change options.

Ya I’ve been playing around with dates as well. I think what we’ll probably do is book and keep checking to see if any discounted rooms pop up at some point. If not, oh well, we’ll at least have something booked. Or maybe, just maybe, we’ll get one of those elusive Unique Offer codes that we used to get all the time but have been sadly lacking in the last few years🤷🏻‍♀️

I see a preferred room at Sports for Nov 29-Dec 5 with Disney+ offer. Room only is $1018

So I went and checked and there was the preferred room at Sports under the 25% off general public discount available for the dates you’ve cited ( it was 1153 room only ) but not for November 30-December 5🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️. So weird that it’s available for the 6 nights but not with one day less🙄

Yeah that’s what I was saying. I played with so many Feb March dates to get those under $100 nights. Price and availability really varies by dates. In the end I booked slightly higher rate but got dates I could live with.

Disney has used a booking algorithm to help control length of stay bookings for years. They don’t want single room nights left that will sit unbooked. From what I’ve read that is a very common practice in the hotel industry.

Thats a very good explanation, never thought of it like that. Makes sense but unfortunately not helpful for me😂😂, but from a business point of view it makes perfect sense. Thanks!

So we ended up having to change our dates due to obligations at hubby’s work, but it works better, I was able to find All Star Movies standard for Nov 27-Dec 1 for $590 with the 25% off discount. It’s only four nights but we’ve got flights on the 27th at the ungodly hour of 5:30am and late flights back on the 1st, so we’ll get essentially 5 days there. Happy with that👍🏻👍🏻 We’re doing resort only this time, looking forward to just a chill time away😀

Sports and music are both 114.75 for the new dates on the Disney + discount, FWIW, so $520.97 final page with tax 27th to the 1st
