I will be in WDW from Wed. 3-December through Mon. 8-December. Is this still one of the better times of the year to go? I've read some horror stories on here from years past and I'm curious if made a wrong decision. I am also looking for tips on what days to visit the park. Should the park offering extra magic hours be avoided on those days? Any tips are appreciated.

We travelled there last year from 12/6 - 12/10 and LOVED it. On 12/6 (Thursday) we went to MVMCP and the crowds were great! We went on everything we wanted, the place seemed pretty empty. We did not do any of the shows because the kids didn't want to, so maybe everyone else was at the shows! We went to Epcot on Friday and it was a bit crowded, but we got on everything again. On Saturday, we did MGM and ToT and RNR were crowded, but nothing like what I've seen in the summer months.

Weather was beautiful and warmed than we expected. All and all, it was wonderful and I would go again at that time. I was a little worried last year as I read the posts that December isn't the quiet time anymore, but we are now hooked on that time of year!

I will add that friends of ours went 12/1 - 12/7 and they did think it was very crowded at MK.

Have a great time! I would recommend that week.

we are going 12/4-12/8 any tips on the crowd level at this time would be great....i did not find out until i cam home from the TA that the parade would be taped during our trip. we are 2 adults that can easily cope with some crowds.

i went about that time this last dec & it was relatively fine...the only thing was Pop warner(??) was going on & there were lots of people there for that.
the weekdays were pretty good in terms of crowds,,,,the weekends did get kinda crazy, but all in all ...i still think its a GREAT time to go!!!!

We went last December 3-7 and the crowds were low and we hardly waited for anything! A GREAT TIME TO GO!!! You will love it! Pop Warner was there, but we did not notice at all- we stayed at POP, and none of them were staying there.

As for EMH- we always use the morning EMH for parks- hit them early and then get out right after or right as lunch is hitting... then we go to another park that did not have EMH for the remainder of the day. EMH in the evening is always good- less crowded and fun!

I am so jealous that you are going in December! We had a fabulous time there last year and would go every December if we could! We also went this past April, and missed the low attendance of our December trip- we had been spoiled on that trip with hardly any waits and such! April provided much more wait times for everything! Enjoy the decorations and the spirit- it is hard to put into words, but once you get there and see everything decorated, you will get goosebumps... even though it will be warm out! Enjoy!:santa:

::yes:: DH and I have been in DEC yearly since 2005. we have done week one and two. We do prefer second week better but first week was OK. It seemed noisier on the busses the first week and all the cheerleaders were there :sad2: but it was still a great time and we got to do everything we wanted. DH and I do not have children and we enjoy a crowd every now and then...but parade day....when they are filming in MK. It was a scary mad house at the beginning of Main Street. I mean baaaddd. So like any great Disney fan we escaped to the train and rode to the back of the park. We were waiting on others to join us and told them not to bother it was just too bad. We met up later in another park..This year we are going 12/5-12/14.:santa: My point is either week, you will have tons of fun.

Not to hijack this thread...but we just booked a trip for Dec. 13-19 and are also wondering about crowds. All of the December crowd threads I have read are for earlier in Dec and I haven't seen anyone ask about this middle week...I am thinking this means crowds will either be horrendous or non existent! :)

Can anyone that has been to the World the week before Christmas comment?

Thanks,
Jennifer

We went in 2006 from Dec 8th-Dec 14th, and in 2007 from Dec 8th to the 16th. Both years the crowds where low, in 2006 it was cold for FL, but 2007 the weather was perfect! We went around in jeans and tshirts. We are going again this year from the 5th to the 15th of December. :goodvibes
