Early December experts - please help me plan

Using morning EMH in early Dec?

Our trip is 12/2-12/10. Most everything I've read has said that the crowds will be low. However, as a DVC member, I know that DVC accomodations fill up quickly at that time of year. So there must be some crowds?

With two young children (DD6 & DS4), would we still want to take advantage of the morning EMH? What if we got to the parks at regular opening time instead of doing EMH, will we be able to get a lot of things done?

I've gone around that time the past 7 years and crowds are not bad. DVC members like to go because of the low points. Weekends are more crowded than weekdays. MK tends to be crowded on the days that Spectromagic & Wishes are shown at night (non-MVMCP days - Saturday, Monday, Wednesday).

Not an expert at all, but bear in mind that your first weekend there, they will probably be filming the Christmas Parade at MK which makes it a bit crazy.

Thanks, I had forgotten about the filming of the parade. I think we will wait until that Monday to visit MK.

Over the years our kids have fared pretty well with EMH hours. We usually head to the EMH park for a few hours and then leave that park for another since that park tends to get more congested later in the day. So, my suggestion would be ...if you skip EMH hours, go to one of the parks that did not have EMH that day...you'll get a lot more done.

That's cool that they tape the parade at the first of Dec. I will be then and I think it will be awsome to see. Of course this is my first trip to disney so I'm just excited to be there. Haven't decided to attend MVMCP. Convince me.

We went 12/2-12/9 last year and did morning EMH everyday. We were able to see everything we wanted in each park, everyday by 2pm. Lines would start to form around noon for popular attractions so we left a 2, went back for a swim and a nap, and returned in the evening.

Thanks, mariolatry. We usually do morning EMH too. I wasn;t sure if we needed to in early Dec., but it seemed liked it worked perfectly for you. I think that's what we'll do too - at least for MK.

Yes, DVC resorts are full. But that's not uncommon, and it doesn't have that much effort on park attendance. Parks are delightfully uncrowded, and occasionally deserted. Last year I ran over to RnR coaster at MGM park opening to get a fastpass, and when we came back an hour later, we couldn't use it! The line was too short and they weren't taking FPs! We went twice in a row with a 10 min wait each time.

I'm actually going that same week...first Christmas trip to Disneyworld!
