When I wen to start early check in for my upcoming trip.it told me that there was no room request with my reservation. I have submitted and received email conformation from Touring Plans that a room request was sent. Is it just that MDE and TP do not interface with each other and the request is there? TIA
 
Correct. The room request that TP sends are faxed and they will not show anywhere on your reservation. It is the same with the ones made with MS. They do not show up anywhere. Just do not check any requests when doing online check in as that will override any others you may have put in.

People posted here several months ago that Touring Plans no longer faxes requests but emails them instead.
 
This is something that I’ve never understood. DVC members make room requests through member services. How does Touring plans get to do room requests? Do they knock out someone else’s request for the same room? Do you pay them to do so? I’ve seen many times where people post that their room request from TP was honored. And many members that have never had a request fulfilled thru member services. I’ve had my share of least desirable rooms, although most times I’m in the ballpark of my requests. Maybe I’m missing something?
 

Touring Plans room requests are given no more weight than a request made through MS. Also, the TP request doesn’t ask for a specific room, it asks for several in the area where you want. You can modify what they request though. For example, I wanted the middle tower room at RIV. The TP request specified all the tower rooms on the floor I wanted. I changed it to just the middle tower on several floors. We ended up on the 5th floor middle room.
 
I’ve always read that for rooms like the Jambo House Value rooms that you can’t make requests?
Is that actually the case? So I can’t contact MS on the chat once I have my reservation and request a room number at all?

Do people even ask for notes to be added like, first family trip, birthdays etc?

No room requests taken for Value rooms.

They may note birthdays, anniversaries, etc. but I wouldn’t expect more than a badge at check in… and perhaps some well wishes! Lol
 
So it’s a flat out, they won’t note down a request or they will but probably won’t honour it.

ideally I would get a pool view with my value 1 bed which I think has the highest chance anyway
 
They have said no requests will be taken for value rooms due to the nature of the views and too many complaints.

As to chances of getting a particular view, be aware 40% of the value rooms have pool view, 40% savanna view, and 20% front of the resort towards parking lot view (but that 20% actually sees mostly trees and bushes and is not bad at all)
