Early Check In?

My husband wants to drive through the night (8+ hours) and arrive early enough for EMH at DHS (8:00am). I believe you can check in early and come back later for your room assignment. How early have you been able to check in and get your KTTK card. We have annual passes for admittance to the park but will need our "hotel key" to get in to DHS.).

Also, how early have you checked in and actually got your room?

Thanks.

Well, in May I checked in at Pop at about 7:15 in the morning and got my room right then. I know that they say something about 7 a.m. being the check in time. If there is no room ready you will still get your key to the world card and just have to call later for your room assignment.

We have checked in as early as 8am before. They will give you a number to call to check if your room is ready. We have gotten in our rooms before 3pm before.

Last trip our plane landed at 8am and we were at the resort before 9 and our room was ready.

I sent a fax a couple of days before to let them know that we would be arriving early.(YC)

Earliest we've checked-in was at POR, around 11am. But have stayed at other Disney resorts and sometimes not been able to check-in until 3 or 4pm. I think it just depends on when your room is actually ready, no matter what resort you are staying.

We have checked in several times around 11am and our room was ready(POFQ). This has been in September though, and the resort is not as crowded as other times of the year.

Last September we took a red-eye and arrived at the Poly about 6:30 a.m. The front desk opened promptly at 7 a.m. and though our originally assigned room wasn't ready, the desk clerk was kind enough to find us one we could have right away. On several previous early check-ins at various resorts we've had mixed results, receiving our room immediately about 1/2 the time.

we checked in at 5am after driving straight thru 19 hours

The room being ready is dependent on a lot of things, mainly if it wasn't occupied the night before.

You can ask if there is any room immediately available but you would have to take what you are given so if you have a lot of requests, you would have to give those up, at least for one night.

The computer systems go down from 2-6am so usually they can't print keys during that time. After 6 you should be fine though

Thanks for all your insight. I feel better about arriving so early now. Nothing would be sadder than to sit in the car waiting to check in!!
