DH and I are hopefully landing at MCO this Friday at 8:30 am and taking ME. We know that we will need to check our bags and come back.

What are our chances to get back to our room with our bags by at least mid-afternoon?

We are getting up with the chickens to catch a 7 am flight and have a 5:30 p.m. ressie for Biergarten.

Will we be able to get a little rest, freshen up, etc. before our ressie?

We have a standard BWV studio.

Last time, we got in our 2 bedroom boardwalk view villa about 5 pm on a Sunday in April. Should we do better or worse now?

Thanks in advance.

No way to know for certain. Rooms at the BW seem to typically be pre-assigned, so it's a question of how quickly your room is cleaned.

I can tell you that in our 8-10 DVC stays we have always gotten into the room before 4pm--that includes two BWV Standard View stays.

If getting into your room early is a bigger priority than any room requests (view, location, etc.), make sure you mention that at check-in. The CM may be able / willing to put you in the first open room available.

Thanks Tjkraz!

We've not made any requests.
I'd prefer not to be all the way down the long hallway, but other than that, I don't care!

I can't remember a time that we checked in on Friday or Saturday and didn't get our standard view studio much earlier than the 4PM posted time. I think you'll be fine! We do mention at check in that getting a room is more important to us than the placement of the room, if we're asked something along that line. We've been very pleased with our BWV's standard studios.

We are arriving for our upcoming trip at 730AM (taking a red eye from Seattle) and I try and comply with the check in time at 4pm. We've reserved our room for Wednesday (we are arriving Thursday morning) so we're guaranteed to have a room available to us when we arrive. In my opinion, points well spent so that we can have a room as soon as we arrive.
I read a post about this woman being so angry because they drove 'all night' and was angry because there were no rooms available at 7am when they arrived. They had to go and rent a hotel room to rest! DUH! Check in is at 4pm.

I asked about my chances of getting in earlier so that I could be better prepared. I do agree that one should not want to "game" the system. If the room is not ready, so be it.

We intentionally took the 1st flight out of Atlanta to get to the parks as early as possible. But, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that our 7am (Eastern Time Zone) Flight would mean getting up at 4:15 and arriving at the airport at 5am, and since we are Central Time Zone folks that would mean getting up at 3:15 am at our hotel. I had not intended to get up in the middle of the night. I then realized that on our last trip that we didn't get into our room until after 5pm and that with our plans, we would possibly not see our room until after Illuminations at 9:30 on our 1st day. I admit that this scenario makes for a long hard day, but we can handle that. I've also heard horror stories about dirty rooms and lost luggage. I really don't want to deal with that after a 17 hour day. We may have to cancel our dinner with friends that night.:sad2:

Firday check-in in early January is really a best-case scenario, IMO, for your room being ready a bit early. This is typically NOT a busy check-in day for DVCers, though it is a big check-out day. Certainly, many folks have to leave well before the 11am deadline in order to make flights, etc. So if you are willing to take the first available room, I think you will be in good shape.

Thanks! I needed the affirmation!

I am coming in on Friday :goodvibes too and the DVC properties are sold out. It is very busy now. Who knew? I would say it is unpredictable at best:eek:
