Early Check-In, Early Entry & Resort IDs

Our extended family will be arriving in 3 groups on a Saturday. Since DVC points are nearly double for Sat nights, we'll be staying off-site Sat -- arriving throughout the day.

Early Sunday morning, I should be able to travel to the Boardwalk villas, check everyone in, and receive all the resort IDs for the group, correct? Or, would 1 representative of each family have to be present to do that? The Boardwalk desk will also store our luggage if the rooms aren't available yet, correct?

If we accomplish all this in time for Early Entry (EMH) at MK, typically would the adults and kids all have to be holding a resort ID to pass through the gate, or can one "keeper of the ID's" hang on to them as the group goes through?

Thanks for your response... Just want to be sure, since I'm the one that is supposed to be Disney-savy.

One representative from each family will need to be at check-in, since each group is a separate reservation. Bell Services will absolutely store your luggage if your rooms aren't available... and they will deliver them to your rooms for you if you call.

As for park entry, you should be fine provided all of the adults have their resort IDs and can explain to the greeter at the entrance that the kids are with you. It may be a good idea to give older kids their resort ID... they may want to have it anyway.

I was able to check-in at the BWV Sept.12th at 7:00am and my two-bedroom Villa was ready...We stayed over at the Wilderness Lodge for the same reason you are staying off-site. I was able to send the rest of my party on to EMH at Magic Kingdom, I recieved all the resort ID's at 7:00am and I was also able to make it back over to the Magic Kingdom at around 8:10 so I was able to enjoy part of EMH.

If all your group is under your name then yes you will be able to check them all in. If their reservations are in their names then each person the resevation is held in will need to go with you to BWV.

I didn't take the time to have the luggage delivered to my villa so Bell Services just held it until I returned to the resort later that afternoon.

I always give the other adults and older children children their Resort ID's and hold the younger children with mine. As they go through the turn-style I show the CM the ID's if they are checking them...

May I ask how the rest of your party is planning on arriving at the Magic Kingdom? The Monorail from TTC doesn't start running for EMH just the Resort Monorail does, they may need their resort ID to board. Why not just have everyone ready to drive over to the BWV with you and then your party will be together and you can all go to the park together.

Didn't think about the Monorail not running from the TTC. Thank you! Hmmm. Now I guess we'll have to think about staying on-site for the first night. I may wait 'till a month or so before our arrival (Oct 2005) to make that reservation as I think that is when the best discounts are posted (I don't want that first night to cost us much). If we're already on-site Saturday, I would not have to worry about fetching the Resort IDs first.

p.s.
I'm not too sure about getting 14 people up early enough (we lose an hour from central time) to get to the BWV, then to the MK.
