Susan-I figured out your last name from the e-mail you sent, DUUH!

The contractor is coming Tuesday to replace our downstairs bathroom, once that is done, we'll be listing the house. Kristen-It sounds like youv'e done your part, what else is there to do besides call? I would think legal action would be the next step, although lawyers aren't cheap. Maybe send a certified letter to the contractor first telling him that you will be pursuing legal action.

It is 96 here today, way too hot, I hope it rains soon!

Everyone must be having a busy week.

DH got the downstairs 70s bathroom torn out last night. I finished packing the kids' rooms. Both kids said "we should move more often". My suggestion was that they sort through their stuff and clean more often. Slight difference of opinion.

Anyone seen the new Pirates movie? I think the kids and I might go to the matinee tomorrow while the contractor is busy in the bathroom. Sounds like two hours of relaxing time to me.

DD's first day of school is July 17. I'm going to see if DH wants to take that day off so we can spend it together. I'm going to suggest going to see Pirates. DH...if you're reading this, does it sound like a good idea?

Speaking of Pirates, are you guys going to go all out for the Pirate party? I told DH I was going to find him a Jerry Seinfeld shirt...you remember the one he wore? DH just laughed. I'm planning to dress all of us up.

A puffy shirt? That would be too funny! When we were at the Mall of America Underwater Adventures they had a cute black t-shirt with a pirate in silver glitter, and a pink tee with hot pink glitter logo but they were kids sizes. I was waaaay bummed. They were in a girl cut and everything. I almost got DH a shirt that said "why work for a living when you can pillage and plunder?" I don't know how all out we'll go, at the very least tropical shirts. I did find a tropical shirt for baby at Target a couple weeks ago.

I just saw what the upstairs computer chair has done to the carpet. Black grease marks! Now how do I get that out? I did put down a pad to reduce further damage.

We saw POTC yesterday and it was a good movie but the Davey Jones guy made me sick with all the tentacles. Yuckkk!

A local blinds salesman came by and gave me a quote on installing faux wood blinds on all my windows. The cheapest material came out to 1194 total!!!! Wow! I was quite surprised. We have fifteen windows. I thought it was excessive. I am sure they do a great job but I can't afford that and my cruises!! I guess I am going to be hanging blinds this weekend.

Hey all!

Tammy-That's a lot of money for blinds! I definately get cheaper ones at the home improvement store and hang them yourself. I don't know about the carpet, there's got to be some kind of degreaser thats safe for carpet. They sell plastic mats at office stores that you can put under the chair.

The kids had a swim meet last night. Outside it was 85 with 96% humidity. Inside it was 110 with I swear 110% humidity. All I kept thinking is, I want a cold shower (our other bathroom only has a tub, no shower).

While we were at the swim meet last night DH finished demo-ing the bathroom. What a mess!! The contractor is busy, busy this morning, hopefully he gets it done soon.

I don't think we'll see POTC today, I forgot that DD and I had signed up for a knitting/crocheting class at the art center. We went for the first session yesterday. I was able to make more than a chain. My grandma was an avid crocheter but she was left handed, she tried teaching me over and over but I could never get it. DD is a left hander too. Yesterday was frustrating for her but I think she's getting it. She's crocheting a hat out of really thick rope-like yarn because it's easy for her to see what she's doing.

I got all kinds of news today. My first check from my new job isn't coming until August 31! I was supposed to get paid on the 10th which would give me the check in time to pay my first mortgage payment by the 15th so it wouldn't be late! Now this! I will call them tomorrow. The payroll in on a new system and the summer payroll is supposed to be a "special" payroll but they have cut that out. I haven't had a check since May 1st, so this is hurting!!

Then I found out that the school district that my daughter is in starts to school on July 24th! I thought she started back to school on the same day as my son which is August 14th!

Yes, my dd's school is on the year-round schedule! I guess I like it okay but it was a surprise. She starts back to school a week from Monday.

I think the pixie dust is working. My mom offered me a loan. And I can probably use the reimbursement of the moving expenses that the school owes me to help tide me over to the next check and then pay off that expense on the credit card when I get paid.

We're heading out of town this weekend for the Iowa Games (Iowa's Olympics for anyone who wants to enter). DD is swimming, then on Sunday the kids both go to camp until Friday. DH and I are going to go on a date (maybe two)!!

Stacie, I hope you have a great trip. Thanks to everyone for the pixie dust.

Although I consider myself intelligent, I am not what I like to call domestic. I am not that good at keeping the house straight and tidy, I almost always have laundry to do and dishes to wash and when it comes to decorating! Well, I do have a few friends that help me with that stuff. But yesterday I went to home depot and got two faux wood blinds and borrowed the neighbor's cordless drill and hung those up and they look great! I am so proud of myself. Now I can do the blinds myself and save hundreds of dollars. Take that Blinds salesman! And a side bonus, I can now dress in my bedroom instead of hiding in the bathroom! Today, I conquer the Kitchen windows!

Tammy, you may come to Delaware & help me put up blinds. My husband can't even put a nail in the wall to hang pictures.

The other day ordered new bedding for the bed, quilt, sheets, etc, etc. They came in yesterday. Today went & picked new carpet out, going to be put down next Monday. Now I'm waiting to get the room painted. Want that done first. By the middle of next week MBR will be ready to nicely put all the clothes away, I hope

How is everyone. It is hot here it is in the 90's & we don't have central air.

Hazel is getting real excited about our trip. She is really looking forward to going. She has never been to Florida.

Hey Queen! I am now a blinds goddess!!! I put up four blinds on the double windows in my kitchen. They look great, plus, it is no longer 85 in the kitchen at 5:00! Now my kitchen looks great! Well, except for the crumbs accumulating under the table in the breakfast nook. Hee Hee!

Power tools are great fun!! I always think that in 20 or 50 years it won't matter that I never had the laundry done or that my house wasn't **** and span but it will count that I was a good mother and made a positive contribution to the world. OK, I'm done, enough philosophy for one day.

Sharon--Sounds like the bedroom is coming along nicely. Sorry about the heat. I won't even complain that it's been topping out around 100 here all weekend with killer humidity, at least I've been in the air conditioning.

We're back from the Iowa Games. DD's individual swimming events were just ok, her relays were awesome. They random pick relays, she got on good teams today and netted two silver medals. Then we dropped kids off at camp, by the time we got back it was past pick-up time at the kennel. The dogs and cat are going to have to wait until morning. Very eerily quiet here.

Did anyone else notice that Friday was the 15th? I was so busy packing for this weekdend and camp that I didn't realize it until last night. Another month closer to the cruise!!!!

Yearbook- If you booked a guarantee, you probably have a long wait to find out your room number. And, if you have four, you will be upgraded at least to a category 11, so say the experienced cruisers.
