EARLY CHECK IN: December 15th, 2007 - Seven night Western - 12/15/07

Drum roll please..............................................................................

We made an offer on a house and it was accepted!! We are officially house poor. :teeth:

I am excited and nervous. We were preapproved but I think I will have to get some stuff together for the lender besides what he already has.

OT: The dentist used some serious glue this time. If it comes out again, I am going to get some super glue.

We are leaving for disney in a few days and the weather is calling for some real rain. Better pack the ponchos.

Stacie, just keep rubbing your tummy and saying 12-23...12-23....

:cheer2: YEAH Tammy!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: That's such exiciting news!

The baby should be here before Dec, we're thinking it's due at the end of October. We have the ultrasound tomorrow (postponed from three weeks ago but that's another story and I don't want to go there :furious: ) Anway, I'll let you know what we find out.

Cristi, I agree May is almost gone, I think the kids are down to nine days of school. They are all signed up for art classes, camp, driver's ed, etc, etc, etc. I hope the gas prices don't get too crazy!!

Hope everyone has a good night!

Thanks so much! I always loved the ultrasounds, they made it all real for me. Since you are due in October, I would tell you to rub your tummy and say 10-23...10-23. :sunny:

Hello all! The due date is now Nov 12. Yeah!! :cheer2: The other big news is it's looking like it's a boy (the technician made sure it wasn't the umbilical cord), although of course no one was willing to put it in writing. I've adjusted my ticker and it looks like we'll be cruising in March!!

Here's some pictures:

Wow! Those pictures are great!!! I am so happy for you.

Tammy

Yeah, I am really surprised it didn't say something like that. That story is all over several different threads. :)

I was going to say the same thing! :thumbsup2

I don't do well in the heat, so I hope I am not making a big mistake, even for free dining! :confused3

Hey all--Hope everyone had a great weekend. Tammy, I hope your having a fabulous time in FL.

The weekend was way too short here. Saturday DD and I went shopping. I bought more maternity clothes, capris, shorts, and a couple of sleevless tops. DD11 was upset by the news that baby looked like a boy. I told her boys had cute clothes too. She said they didn't and wanted to make a wager on the way up to Des Moines. She wanted to bet that if boys didn't have cute clothes we would send the baby back!!! :rotfl: Thank goodness for Babies R Us. DD now can't wait to have a baby brother. They had all kinds of cute clothes for baby boys! Not that we went crazy or anything but I'm hoping it is a boy, because we now own 3 pairs of swim trunks, complete with shirts, sandals, and hats, an outfit for tropical/pirate night, and two other short outfits for him to wear on the cruise in March. If I do have a girl, someone who has a baby boy next spring is going to really like me. I also pointed out to DD that she will remain Daddy's girl and the princess of the family. She made a countdown calendar when she got home.

Yesterday we cleaned the garage. YUCK! We got DS's car and my van in. There hasn't been two cars in our garage since we moved here six years ago.

The kids only have 8 more days of school left. I think they are ready to be done. DD has her first band concert this afternoon and the orchestra concert (DDs first) for both the kids is tomorrow night. I'm chaperoning the 5th grade class field trip to the state capitol on Friday. Talk about melting, its supposed to be 84, thank goodness I found shorts that fit!

We snagged a camping spot yesterday so we'll be able to camp over Memorial Day. The campground is a mile down the road from us so it's close but it is still camping. DS flies out for his class trip to Washington DC on Sunday morning (at 6:00am). It will be weird to have him that far away.

Well, I've taken up enough room for a Monday morning, hope everyone has a great day and a great week!!

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't been keeping up. I hope everyone is doing well.

My dd fell Sunday evening. We have a steep hill in our back yard and she loves to run down it. Well, she fell and caught herself with her hands. Her forward momentum still caused her to scrape up her lips and nose...

She let out quite a shreik and held onto her left arm. She cries easily, so it's hard to determine when she's really hurt. I saw the fall, so I know it was bad. Anyway, we checked out the arm Sunday night and didn't think it was broken. She had trouble getting to sleep and woke a few times during the night crying in pain. Monday it was a bit swollen, but no bruising. We decided to have it x-rayed. The x-rays were negative, but the doctor seems to think there might be a small fracture.

She's at school today. I went during lunch. She's not crying in pain anymore, but she's not using it at all. Her fingers and hand are starting to look bruised. The dr. did wrap it in a bandage. I plan to take it off and look at the arm when school is out.

Just wondering if any of your kiddos had ever broken an arm and what your experience was.

Thanks...

Hello everyone....my husband and I just put our deposit down yesterday so we will be on the ship with all of you. We are in room 2126 . My daughters will be 12 and 10 when we sail. I have seen alot of you have daughters near this age group. If anyone wants to do emails or something I know my daughter would love to get to know some girls before hand. Both my girls are in Girl Scouts as well, to bad we can't do a Disney patch LOL. We live in St Louis Missouri. One thing my husband and I are struggling with is what age do you let the kids wonder off on there own? What do you think you guys are going to do?

Kristin

Is it really 18months away???? ;)

Welcome Kristen!!! I'm so excited that there will be more girls on the cruise, how fun. My daughter will be 12 on this cruise too. Last year when we cruised she was almost 11 and we let her check herself in and out of the club, but made the staff send us a page when she did. She was only allowed to go back to the stateroom and then one of us would meet her there or call her and tell her where to meet us. It worked well and she felt VERY independent. I think we let her go to the soda station and Pluto's alone a couple times, but we were in the stateroom waiting for her to come back. It is hard to know what to let them do. My DS was 13 at the time and we called the stack alot to check on him.

Is your birth year 1973? That's mine too.

St. Louis was our first family vacation. We loved it, the arch, the Magic House, zoo, and Grant's Farm were great. We stayed in a B&B in Lafyette Square. I'd love to go back sometime.

I have a website set up for this cruise but we've decided not to use it quite yet. I haven't told my kids about this cruise yet because it's so far away, and we got a suite, I'm debating with how to surprise them. I think some of the others are waiting as well. We might need to re-evaluate that though, we are getting a good size group.

Pink--My kids have never had broken bones, but I've broke both my arms. One in 5th grade and one in 7th grad (yes, I'm a clutz!). I knew right away because I couldn't grip anything. Has the radiologist looked at the x-rays or just the Dr.? Sometimes they see things that the Dr. missed. Good luck, it stinks when something happens to your kids.

Stacie, yes my birthday is April 16,1973....My family jokes that I am a tax baby. Is this disgroup going to go all out with shirts and things like that? My daughters already know that we are cruising in 07. That would be my fault due to the fact that I can't keep my mouth shut. :rotfl2:

Kristin

Welcome Kristin.

Thanks for the word of advice Stacie. DD is not gripping anything either. Last night she picked up a small, hard cover "easy reader" book and it slipped through her fingers b/c she couldn't grip it.

Other than that, she's not really complaining of pain anymore...unless she bumps it or has to change shirts.

I'm guessing a radiologist looked at the x-ray. We went to another building for the x-ray, then back to the ped. for the results.

I'll let you guys know if we go in for more x-rays.

Kristen--We are cruising in March, over Spring Break, that's the cruise the kids know about. We had to postpone the one in December this year because of "Our Surprise" (baby wouldn't be old enough).

We haven't talked about t-shirts or anything yet. I'm game. I have volunteered our stateroom for a DIS meet. I have eighteen months to gradually talk my introvert husband into it. :rotfl:

Pink--At our small hospital/clinic there is only one radiologist and he doesn't look at all the x-rays right away. Two years ago this weekend DH broke his ankle. The Dr. put it in a walking boot and gave him crutches, the Tuesday after Memorial Day we get a call from the Dr. telling us that the radiologist found a break and he had to have surgery the next day. He had been walking around on it all weekend. Now that I know that, I'll always make sure to ask if the radiologist can read the x-ray right away or not. Anyway, hope she feels better soon. :grouphug:
