Early Check in at HH on Friday?

My family and I are taking our first trip to HH this Friday. I just received our confirmation and was wondering if you can usually get an early check in. I didn't realize check in was so late.
We are travelling with my 2 yo dd and she will need a nap before then.
Are they usually flexlible with this or not? Check in is at 4pm, ideally, we would like to check in between 1 and 2pm!

Oh, and am I better off calling ahead of time or asking when we arrive?

You can check in early, but your room may not be ready. You never know. We've checked in on a Friday and didn't get our room until 4:00 and we've also checked in on a Sunday before and got our room at 8 a.m. A lot of people check out on Fridays since the points are so high for the weekends. That would result in a lot of rooms to be cleaned for the next guests. Since it is the off season, it may not be as busy and there could be a good chance you'd get your room early. Good luck

Of course, the rule is 4:00pm, but at HH in January...you should have no problem checking in early. We stayed there in January a couple of years ago, and a CM told us that there were about 25 people at the resort.

I think it is always better to try to call ahead. That way, if there is anything they can do to help you, they have more opportunity to note it and to plan for it.
