Early check in at AKL??

We are doing a 3Land/4Sea package and rather than "waste" the better part of our first day with travel, we are flying in the evening before, staying offsite for that night and then hitting the ground running on our first WDW day.

I understand that if our room isn't ready, our bags will be held for us, presumably in a secure place. Can anyone tell me what the earliest we can arrive at AKL to drop our stuff? Has anyone ever been lucky enough to check in by, say, 10am??

You can check in at anytime. The only reason they tell you to check in at 3pm is because that's when they can guarantee a room is ready and available for you. If you check in before 3pm you'll be checked in but if your room isn't ready, they'll give you a card with a number to call after 3pm to see what your room number is.

Bell service can keep your luggage for you. Just hand them the luggage, they'll tag it and when your room is ready, you can just call them and they'll deliver your luggage to your room.

We always check-in at the earliest we can (usually 7am if we split stay)

We have checked in at resorts as early as 6:30 am and gotten into our room that early as well (not always, but it has happened). If your room is not available, just leave your bags and go off to have fun!

we typically drive to WDW - it's about a 10 hour drive. So we always do this.

Find a "cheapie" off-site for your first night of travel day. Then get up early and head on over to the resort. Check-in to get your park tickets and leave your car/luggage. Head on out to a park and get into your room later in the afternoon when the room is ready.

We've checked-in as early as 7:00 am (we were too excited to sleep any longer.)

the night we arrived in Orlando and went to the AKL the next morning at 8AM to check-in/drop off bags. Our room was not ready (and we really did not expect it to be) but they checked our bags and off we went to the MK. When we arrived back that afternoon, we got our room and they had the bags brought around in about 10 minutes.

You will LOVE the AKL!!!!!

When we stayed at AKL last June, we arrived around 9:00 a.m. and our room was ready!
