early check in at AKL

Our vacation for AKL begins 6/22. My daughter is flying the red eye and will be in at 7:30 am, 5 hours before the rest of us. Slim chance at that time of year for early check in? Can she fall asleep in the lounge area? thanks everyone

You can check in as early as 7:00 am, when the computers roll over. She can take advantage of all the amentities at the resort or head to the parks.

A room may or may not be ready. Let your daughter know with the new computer system, the CM may give her the first available room. It may not fit your requests you have on your ressie. Tell her to wait for you if it does not meet your requests.

If you do the early check-in, you can select the time when you expect to check in for the reservation. I would do that and select 8:00 AM. Hopefully that will increase your chances of a room being available when your daughter arrives. Of course, at AKL, I would expect chances to depend on what type of room you booked because I'm sure some types are more popular than others and may be booked solid back-to-back.

I hope she gets the room early. If not, I think it will be hard to sleep in the Jambo House (main building at AKL) lobby. It is always busy there. But if she takes a shuttle bus or walks over to Kidani Village (the second building at AKL) she may find a secluded alcove to sleep in. Kidani has a space called "The Palace Library" just down the hall from the lobby that would be perfect for this, as well as some other quiet savanna overlooks that she could have all to herself at that hour. Bell services at Jambo House will happily hold her luggage for her until the room is ready. Good luck!

There is a quiet room just ofvthe lobby past concierge desk called The Living Room? I think. Or she can grab a lounge by the pool to relax on. If she has a bathing suit with her, there is a nice change room with showers and lockers by the pool area.

I checked into AKL at 8am last year and my room was ready. Do on-line check-in - they ask for your expected time of arrival

How about getting a day room at the airport Hyatt (or whatever hotel is in there)? Upon landing, she could get a room for a few hours to relax, nap, and shower before meeting up with you at the airport.
