Early Check In at AKL Concierge

We will be using concierge level for three days of our December trip for the first time. Because there are five of us, we needed to reserve a deluxe savannah view room anyway, so it wasn't too much more to go with concierge level, gotta love those AP rates!

We will be coming from the Contemporary, the day after we go to MVMCP. We have left this day fairly unscheduled, since it will be a late night, then switching resorts. My question is, if we check in around 9 or 9:30 in the morning, will we be allowed to use the lounge that early, even if our room isn't ready? I know we are supposed to tell bell services to take us upstairs to check in, and I did tell Jill, the concierge who contacted us, that we would be arriving in the morning. I was thinking that eating breakfast in the lounge would make the difference in price worthwhile, but my Cindy's ressies are during our AKL stay unfortunately, and we will be going on the Sunrise Safari another morning - so arrival and departure days would be the only mornings we will use the lounge?

If this isn't okay, we could go down to the Mara for breakfast, but I wasn't planning to buy the refillable mugs, since we should have access to coffee in the lounge.

Anyone done this before?

We've done this a number of times when we switch resorts or just arrive early. We check in with the concierge desk and then have breakfast before heading to the parks. They have told us to go ahead and do this, that's what it's there for. You'll find that most concierge cm's are great and will help with what ever you may want/need.

I wanted to be sure this was allowed - I thought it would be, but wanted to be sure.

Looking forward to our first concierge stay! They really do seem interested - Jill, the concierge, has called here three or four times with questions - seems CRO forwarded our reservation to her twice, then it got dumped out of her computer - she seems really nice though! We also got our advance itinerary planner today - a nice touch!

I can second that info on early access to concierge continental breakfast. Last week, we arrived at the AKL at 9:30 am, our room wasn't ready, so they stored our bags & offered us breakfast. We pigged out & headed into Epcot for the day with full tummies.
Try the juices, I mixed orange, pineapple & mango, yum! I also took an apple "to go", no problem.
Also, glance around for famous faces on the concierge floor (6th), that's where they stay. We saw several soap stars & I hear that Bruce Willis & Demi Moore were there recently with their kids.
