Early am customs T1 at YYZ

Just an update for those deaprting T1 at YYZ...heavily enforcing no carry on rule.Lines are long but call you into customs in order of flights departing. I arrived at 4:10 am for my 6:30 flight and had maybe 10 to spare when I got to my gate. They seem pretty organized right now and backlogs are minimal ... Just arrive early and be patient

I'm now boarding and on my way!!

Thanks for posting! I'm taking the 6:30 AM flight on Wednesday. I was told by Air Canada that their check in counter doesn't open until 5:00 AM. I haven't had a chance to call in about US Customs. I'm assuming they're opening it earlier than that now?

ugh, this worries me so much...no carry on. Where do put my SLR camera? I have 2 1/2 layover at yyz coming from yul....getting worried.

Megan - My DF called CATSA and was told that his camera bag with lenses and body was ok but nothing else. So no memory cards, chargers etc. We definitely wouldn't be checking our SLR.

I also looked on the GTAA website yesterday and it said the latest directive is only in effect until Jan 4. Let's hope they realize it's not sustainable in the long term...

That is very good news. I am not sure it will be lifted Jan4th...it is alot work to fix the carry on luggage problem.

I would be very surprised if this no carryon rule goes past Janurary 4th.
